2023 VMSD International Visual Competition - Food & Beverages/Consumables - 1st place, Noble Herb
A major challenge for cannabis retailers are the restrictions placed on product displays. A benefit to other retail categories is the opportunity for shoppers to have a full sensory experience—seeing, touching, tasting, smelling or trying something on for size. Cannabis regulations prohibit access to the product—medicated products can’t be on display or accessible to shoppers. This makes creating enticing functional displays difficult.
Noble Herb overcame the challenge by investing in creating faux versions of many of their edible products, a strategy being employed by more and more brands. This allows the products to be displayed in a compliant yet appealing way. And they are non-perishable and always look good. This achieves the visual interest important for edible product displays and also gives the merchandising team display flexibility—a more effective strategy than the creative arrangement of empty packages.
