HAPPY NEW YEAR FRIENDS!! I hope your holidays were wonderful and you are off to a great start in 2023!
One of my major goals this year is FREEDOM. Remember Mel Gibson playing the role of William Wallace in Braveheart? Yes, it's that kind of deep FREEEEEEDOM!!!, but in a much more peaceful, 21st Century Way.
Working with clients for nearly 8 years now, I understand the immense power of WHY when setting goals. People who have a very strong WHY achieve their goals. I have seen it happen many times. As I have my own goals for 2023, I realized my WHY behind them is to experience a world-class level of FREEDOM. I want to share with you what I wrote, hoping that it will help you in some way and possibly create some dialogue between us.
Here is my WHY in the form of what I call 'The 7-Freedoms'. 4 of them I learned from Dan Sullivan at Strategic Coach and 3 of them came from introspection.
1. Freedom of Expression to be 100% authentic at all times with all people.
2. Freedom of Time to 1) Know and believe that there is ample time each day to complete my work and also have slow time to be present with my family 2) to change my entire work schedule so that I am able to do deep work, focusing on my 20% (this is uninterrupted creative work for about 6 hours in the morning) 3) To rest, recover, and have childlike fun in the evening and on my days off.
3. Freedom of Relationships to 1) Increase authentic relationships 2) Eliminate relationships that aren’t authentic and 3) Find and develop 10 lifeline relationships.
4. Freedom of Money to 1) know and believe that money and wealth are wonderful, useful, and good to have in abundance^^ 2) to invest in people, experiences and things that I absolutely love and that bring much happiness and value to me, my family and team 3) to share it.
5. Freedom from emotional habits that block my freedom, especially fear (hesitation, playing small, anxiety, time-selfishness, focusing on the negative), Envy (victim consciousness, jealousy), Anger (impatience, frustration) and pride (arrogance, judging).
6. Freedom of Purpose to pursue exactly the life that I see fit.
7. Freedom to Allow Others to Be Exactly As They Are, which sounds kind of arrogant, but basically giving others absolute freedom to be themselves even if what they say and do is diametrically opposed to my values and beliefs.
Would love to hear your take on this or on what you are being or doing in 2023.
Wishing you a Wonderful Day, Year and much FREEEEEEDOM!!
