Before you can heal it you’ve got to recognize it. The ACE (Adverse Childhood Experiences) test helps you understand how childhood trauma might be affecting your health, relationships, and emotional responses today.
Take the quiz below. For every “Yes,” give yourself 1 point.
Before your 18th birthday, did you…
1️⃣ Did a parent or adult in the home often swear at you, insult you, or make you feel afraid of being hurt?
2️⃣ Did a parent or adult ever push, grab, slap, or hit you so hard it left marks or caused injury?
3️⃣ Did an adult or someone 5+ years older ever touch you sexually or try to?
4️⃣ Did you often feel that no one in your family loved you or supported each other?
5️⃣ Did you go without food, clean clothes, or medical care because no one was there to protect you?
6️⃣ Were your parents ever separated or divorced?
7️⃣ Was your mother or stepmother ever physically hurt or threatened by a partner?
8️⃣ Did you live with someone who was alcoholic, addicted to drugs, or misused substances?
9️⃣ Did you live with someone who was depressed, mentally ill, or who attempted su***de?

💥 What It Means:
• 0–2: Low exposure — but healing is still valid.
• 3–4: Moderate exposure — you’ve seen some things, and your healing matters.
• 5–6: High exposure — trauma likely impacted your emotional world.
• 7–10: Very high exposure — you’re a survivor. Your healing is your superpower.
💛 A high ACE score does not define you. It helps you understand your story so you can reclaim your future.
Healing is possible. Growth is yours. Cycles can be broken. You are not alone.
