Back-to-school season always comes with the same mix: new routines, less sleep, more stress - and soon enough, the coughs and colds start circulating.

Did you know acupuncture can help regulate stress, improve sleep, and support your body’s defenses — all of which lower your chances of getting sick in the first place?

It’s one of the simplest ways to keep your system steady when everything else is in flux. A few treatments now can set the tone for a healthier season ahead.

If your schedule’s already filling up, consider this your reminder to take care of you while you’re taking care of everyone else.

Some pain doesn’t start in the body.
But it always leaves a trail there.

I once treated a woman with stubborn neck pain. What finally released it wasn’t a new stretch or needle combo - it was grief. Unspoken, unacknowledged...And the points that held it? Lung-related - but found on her back.

This is what meridian theory allows us to do: map symptoms, trace patterns, and clear blocked paths - physical and emotional.

🌀 If you’ve tried everything and still don’t feel right, this one’s for you.

When the diagnosis doesn’t help… what do you do next?

Maybe you’ve been told everything looks “normal,”
Or maybe you’ve collected labels that still don’t explain why you feel off.

Chinese medicine starts somewhere else entirely:
Not by asking what’s wrong with you,
But by listening to what your body has been trying to say.

This new blog explores what happens when we stop chasing names - and start recognizing patterns.

What if your lungs are carrying what you never said goodbye to? 🫁 😞

Not a metaphor. Not a stretch. Just something I’ve seen—again and again—when grief doesn’t have somewhere to go.

I just had such deeply validating feedback from one of my long standing patients.

She was booking her next appointment after the session and said something along the lines of:

When you massage me, it feels like you’re putting my body back in order. Regular massage feels good, It's relaxing, but this is *different*.

And what struck me is - we’ve never talked about what I really do.
Not with my needles, not with my hands.
She’s been coming to me for a year and a half or so, and she also gets regular massage elsewhere. But this? This wasn’t about relaxation. It was her body telling her something was different, and her giving it words.

I actually told her how amazing that feedback was—because that’s exactly how I experience what I do. I’ve always believed it’s my frequency that does the work.
My hands and needles are just how that gets delivered.
And what she said landed so clearly because it came before any explanation. It wasn’t a reflection of what I told her - it was confirmation of what I’ve always known.

I don't know if it's the shift in weather or something else, but today felt kind of heavy. Instead of reaching for one of my regular oil blends when I was setting up the office, I created one out of Peru balsam, copaiba oleoresin, lavender fine, lavandin, and blood orange, and my goodness what a beautiful grounding and centering blend it seems to be!

What are your favorite custom oil blends?

If you’ve felt heavier, stiffer, or like your joints are creaking a little louder than usual the past few days - it's not your imagination.
The weather we've been experiencing - cold, damp, unrelenting - settles into the joints just like it settles into the structure of your house.
And if you already deal with joint pain or sluggish circulation, it can make everything feel even heavier...slower...sore in places that usually hold steady.
I posted a warm, simple soup remedy that draws from generations of traditional wisdom—designed to move cold and damp out of the body and bring warmth back to the joints.

Use this soup when you're experiencing joint or muscle pain that worsens in cold or damp weather, feels better with warmth, and may come with a feeling of heaviness, stiffness, or slow circulation.

It’s giving… Seattle.
Days like this don’t just make us wet—they make us heavy.
Foggy. Sluggish. The kind of day where your body doesn’t quite want to move, your mind feels like it’s wrapped in cotton, and your appetite is there—but off.
This is damp. Not just outside, but inside.
In Chinese medicine, we treat that not with force, but with food.
Today’s recipe is a bowl that moves qi, warms the middle, and gently lifts the fog—ginger, jujube, goji, and a thread of orange peel.
It’s already up on the blog if your body’s craving it.

Use this congee when the weather is damp or cold, when digestion feels slow, or when emotions feel sticky and hard to move through. It's especially helpful on days where you're craving warmth, movement, and grounded sweetness without overstimulation.
