Full disclosure: I'm not perfect. It has been weeks since my last asana practice. And I'm okay with it. 😌
Several weeks ago, my entire life shifted in many ways. (More in that in a later post.) And all my daily routines and practices have had to shift a bit, too. And that's okay!
It can be all too easy for us to beat ourselves up when we don't perform at our best, even when we've spread ourselves too thin, or picked up, moved, and started living a whole new life! Something's gotta give. And it will.
When life takes a turn, whether we start working more, move to a different state, have a child, or experience any other life-altering changes, self-care is so often the first thing to go. Of course, that's usually when we need intentiinal self-care the most!
Many times we will keep some grounding practices in our routines at times of change. For me, that has been journaling. I like documenting my life and writing things out allows me to process more quickly and thoroughly. This practice is so ingrained, I know it'll always be a part of my life. 📖
Right now, I'm working on getting back into the flow of a self-care routine that works for me - as I live now. I can't expect it to look like it did any other time in my life. This time is different and so am I.
If you know what I mean, and you're also working on getting back to a more balanced way of life, leave a comment below and let me know your ONE thing you commit to doing this week for your own self-care! 💜
Imperfect action is perfect in the moment.
