Because shame doesn’t heal metabolism. But understanding does.
Intro: You Stepped Off the Shot… and Into a Storm
Maybe it started with one pair of pants feeling tighter. Or the return of a craving you thought you’d buried. Or maybe it was the scale — whispering “See? This was never real.”
And just like that, the shame creeps in. You should’ve tapered slower. You should’ve tracked better. You should’ve known this would happen.
But here’s the thing: You did your best — with the tools you had. This week, we’re going to reframe the rebound. Not as failure… …but as feedback.

🔓 What I’d Say If We Were on Zoom Right Now…
You look at the scale. It moved. And your first thought is, “I knew it. I screwed this up.”
If we were face-to-face right now, I’d gently stop you. And say: You didn’t fail. Your biology responded. The scale didn’t jump out of spite. It responded to a body that was suddenly expected to run without the same fuel, the same hunger suppression, the same cues.
This is not moral failure. It’s metabolic feedback. And you get to shift the story — now with tools, not shame.

🎯 Unplugged Insight
If you read Serena’s story in the last issue of GLP-1 Unplugged, you saw this play out in real time — her rebound wasn’t weakness, it was physiology. And once she had the right tools, her biology began to shift again.
So… let’s debunk the myth.
Rebound weight doesn’t mean you lack discipline. It usually means your body was never taught to self-regulate post-shot.
Here’s what often happens:
1. GLP-1 suppresses appetite + slows gastric emptying.
2. While on it, you eat less — but often without tuning into hunger signals.
3. Once it wears off, ghrelin (hunger hormone) rebounds, and you’re hungry… fast.
4. Your metabolism, which has slowed in response to lower intake, hasn’t had time to adjust.
Result? You eat a normal amount. The body stores it. The scale climbs. But this is biology — not betrayal.

💎 Hidden GEM: Genetics. Empowerment. Metabolism.
GEM DROP: Your ADRB2 gene helps regulate fat metabolism — and if you carry a certain variant, you’re more likely to regain fat post-weight loss, especially under stress or inflammation.
This isn’t destiny — it’s data. Knowing your blueprint means you can adjust your habits, training, and even meal timing to match how your body prefers to burn fuel.
💥 We don’t fight genetics. We partner with them.

🧘♀️ Whole-BEING Practice
The “Craving Curve” Check-In Next time you feel a strong urge to eat (especially post-GLP), pause and ask:
1. What triggered this? (Hunger? Habit? Stress? Exhaustion?)
2. What’s the first smallest step I can take that aligns with my future self?
3. What’s my next right move — not the perfect one, just the next?
Even if you choose the food — this awareness changes the pattern loop. Over time, this rewires the craving response.

✍🏼 Reclaim This
“My body is not damaged. It’s recalibrating.”
Write it. Say it out loud. Put it on your mirror if you need to. This is the truth that keeps you moving forward when the fear tries to pull you back.
