My name is Ka’ryress ( Kah-rees) founder of I Am A Voice 4 Epilepsy Awareness/ My Voice 4 Ep. I was diagnosed with Epilepsy at the age of 2 years old, endured endless trips to the neurologists and specialists who ran insurmountable amounts of tests throughout my years, only to come up with no real answers. Growing up, like many people who have to deal with childhood Epilepsy and into adulthood was not at all easy. I felt like I was all alone in a world with people who just did not understand, I’ve lost friends and have been privy to just about every stigma I can think of. One day I decided to do some research of my own considering it seemed I was educating the doctors and had more answers for them than they did me. What I found was I definitely was not alone and 2. there were so many people, children suffering even dying and were far worse than I. Even more was the fact that as common as Epilepsy is so many people did not and do not even know about it until it happens to them or their loved one. Even more staggering is the very limited funding for research and treatments although it is one of the largest neurological disorders only next to Alzheimers and Stroke and more people die from it than Breast Cancer! I decided I had to do Something! It has become my life mission to Educate, Provide Support,Bring Awareness, Encourage, Empower and Be a Voice for myself and others with Epilepsy as well as those who no longer have a voice in this fight for a cure for Epilepsy and other seizure disorders. Although this journey is not an easy one I am determined to fight until there is a cure. ~I Am A Voice 4 Epilepsy Awareness..
