Cold weather can make teeth more sensitive for some patients.

If you notice seasonal tooth sensitivity, we can help by switching you to a different toothpaste, treating gum recession, or checking for underlying issues.

Traditional Hanukkah foods are delicious, especially latkes, sufganiyot (jelly donuts), and chocolate gelt. Many of these treats are fried or sugary, which can stick to teeth and feed cavity-causing bacteria.

A few simple tips to help protect your smile during the holiday:

- Rinse with water after enjoying sweets or fried foods

- Brush 30 minutes after eating to avoid brushing softened enamel
- Encourage kids to drink water during celebrations

- Choose dark chocolate gelt when possible (it's less sticky and rinses off teeth more easily!)
