Grief affects us all. I have often said before that we can't be smart enough, rich enough, or tough enough to outrun loss. Whether we are deep in its throes or in a moment of reprieve, for those of us who have lost a mother or mother figure, Mother's Day can be tough. I started Good Grief many years ago to give other's with a shared loss a sense of community and belonging. My hope was to take the taboo off of death and grief and give everyone a safe space to exist in. It's evolved over the years for sure, but the intention remains.
I've learned a lot since we started good grief many years ago, and I've lost more mother figures too. As my well of grief grows, my hope each year remains- to honor all of the mothers we have been blessed to have in our lives, and keep their memories alive within our great community.
The Good Grief session this weekend will involve a little roll out, de-stress, and relaxation time- as well as some community time focused on grief. Low key, no pressure. If this sounds like the self care you need this weekend, I'd love for you to join us. If you know of a friend that might benefit, please share this event with them. Friday night, May at 5:30pm. Cost is $20. Email Abby at theclinic.abby@gmail.com to sign up.
With love 🤍
