Somatic Therapy…a fancy name for getting back into your body. Yoga is a powerful tool to get you there. And it doesn’t have to be a complex or physically challenging practice to be effective.

It can be helpful managing:

Trauma and post-trauma
Stress
Anxiety
Depression
Grief
Addiction
Sexual function

Somatic therapy is also used in the treatment of some physical conditions, including:

Chronic pain
Digestive disorders
Sexual dysfunction

*All classes offered by Nourishing Practices are trauma informed and an adjunct to the therapy you are currently receiving.

Class is held Sunday evenings at 6pm in Crystal Springs, MS. Reach out for more information.

It is always an honor to hold space for the beautiful souls that show up to practice yoga, deepen their relationship with themselves, build community and head into the week relaxed and grounded.

People: I want you to make me a meal plan.

Me: You really do not want that. Mainly because the qualifiers and strategy for my personal meal plans are:
1️⃣Do I have protein?
2️⃣Do I have vegetables?
3️⃣Will it make a good turd?

If it’s yes to those questions, that’s the meal we are rolling with. 😆

So, no. I do not make meal plans. However, I will help you find your own unique way of honoring your body and fueling your goals.

You are invited to come reset your nervous system and set the stage to step into your week grounded, relaxed and focused.
These classes are beginner friendly, and many modifications are offered throughout the class.

May 3rd: Rest & Restore
May 10th: Mother's Day-No Class
May 17th: Dark Feminine Flow
May 24th: Rest & Restore
May 31st: Dark Feminine Flow

Class descriptions:

Rest & Restore: Simple yoga poses that encourage a reduction in stress and enhance relaxation. This class is not a workout. It is more of a "work-in."

Dark Feminine Flow: Give your feminine anger a place to go. Move your body through yoga poses that flow together while immersed in dark grungy metal tunes. You may break a sweat in this class. And as always, modifications will be provided so you can honor your body's needs and fitness level.

We all know having a healthy social network is important. Especially since who you hang around will have an impact on your health. Want to be healthier? Start hanging out with people that are moving more. Sounds easy in theory. How do you put it in action?

Start by finding a friend in your social group and ask where they go to run, hike, dance, swim, do yoga, whatever. You get the idea. Then attend an event. Show up. You don’t have to be good. You get good from repetition. Basically being bad at something over and over then slowly better and better…

Also, look for the new person at the event. Make them feel welcome. Introduce them to other people they may vibe with. In time, you have community and a healthier body.

Today was a culmination of those actions. I had the pleasure of walking, running and laughing with people from multiple surrounding communities and different areas my life. Today was a win.

Finally getting my feet under me after passing my social work licensure exam and taking on a part time position as a social worker.

Life is always in flex. Nothing stays the same. I always encourage coaching clients to take 12 weeks to see if something is working for them. Then keep what works and adjust what doesn’t.

Practicing what I teach, this schedule will be in place for the next three months and if it needs modification because it doesn’t honor the health of my business, body or relationships, it will be adjusted accordingly in July.

Now days they refer to this as “food noise.” And guess what, you can quiet it naturally over time. Management of blood sugar, a healthy gut microbiome, healthy coping mechanisms and mindfulness practices go a long way in rewriting your relationship with food.

The last session was a blast with participants experiencing some weight loss, but bigger than that was a moment to pause and explore their relationship with food outside of physical nourishment. They also experienced less brain fog and greater mental focus.

If you want to participate there is room for you. Let me know so I can save you a spot.
