We’re still busy getting our doors dressed for fall, and today we welcomed a few new residents who came down to make their very own autumn wreaths! 🍁

🍦✨ A Sweet Thank You to our very own A&W Restaurant Fond du Lac, WI! ✨🍦

Yesterday, Maple Meadows residents raised their glasses (of frosty root beer floats!) in celebration of National Assisted Living Week- and it wouldn’t have been possible without the generous support of our community friends at Fond du Lac A&W Restaurant.

They donated their famous A&W root beer and creamy vanilla ice cream so we could serve up smiles, nostalgia, and a whole lot of joy. 💛

From all of us at Maple Meadows: thank you for making our celebration extra special. Your kindness and partnership remind us what community is all about.

🃏💥 HOY! HOY! HOY!
At Maple Meadows, we played one of our all-time favorite games~ a fast-paced card game that’s kind of like Bingo… but instead of shouting “Bingo,” you flip your last card and yell HOY! (Think: the sound of a dramatic “Hi-YA!” but with a twist 😄)

It’s simple: first person to flip over all their cards wins and lets out a victorious HOY!
The room was full of laughter, friendly competition, and some seriously enthusiastic HOY-ing. We had an absolute blast!

🍂 Welcoming Fall at Maple Meadows! 🍂

Today our residents kicked off the season by crafting beautiful fall door wreaths- and the creativity was flowing! From choosing colors to arranging leaves and flowers, each wreath became a personal expression of autumn joy.

But this activity was more than just festive decor- it was also a powerful way to support memory and connection. When we engage in hands-on creativity while chatting with others, we activate multiple parts of the brain. That dual stimulation- doing and socializing- can help improve focus, recall, and emotional wellbeing.

We saw smiles, stories, and a whole lot of laughter. Fall is here, and so is the warmth of community. 🍁💛

🐾 Happy National Dog Day from Maple Meadows! 🐾

Today we welcomed back one of our favorite four-legged friends- Oliver! 🐶 He wowed us with new tricks, shared tail wags, and soaked up all the love from our residents. There’s just something magical about a dog’s energy that lifts the whole room!

We also had a blast with dog-themed trivia and fun facts. Did you know:

🦴 Dogs have unique nose prints- just like human fingerprints?!

💛 🤎 And here’s the science behind the snuggles: petting a dog actually releases oxytocin in your brain—the “love hormone” that calms you down and boosts your mood. How amazing is that? 🥰

We love our therapy dog Ollie, and we’re so grateful for the joy he brings to our community. To top it off, we enjoyed some puppy chow as a sweet snack, because humans deserve treats too! 🍫🐾

Thanks to Oliver for being the highlight of our day, to our other therapy dog Duke, to my own dog at home Lexi, and to all the dogs out there who make life a little brighter.
