Vivistim is performed at the Aurora Medical Center in Oshkosh.

Dr. Max Ots, board-certified Neurosurgeon, performed his first Vivistim Therapy vagus nerve stimulation (VNS) implant in Green Bay — marking the first case performed outside of Milwaukee in eastern Wisconsin.

Vivistim Therapy is an innovative, FDA‑approved technology designed to support chronic stroke rehabilitation. By pairing vagus nerve stimulation with physical and occupational therapy, Vivistim aims to help enhance the brain’s ability to relearn movement and regain function.

This is a major step forward for stroke survivors in our region. We’re proud to bring breakthrough therapies like Vivistim closer to home for the patients we serve. 🙌

Congratulations to our Teammates in Grafton🎉

Big things are happening at Aurora Medical Center – Grafton!

Following our groundbreaking ceremony, construction is officially underway on a new 125,000 square foot, multi-floor patient tower, an expanded emergency department and an additional 84 private patient suites.

The project is scheduled to be completed in 2028.

Aurora Grafton is a leader in a broad variety of comprehensive women’s health services, including the highest level neonatal intensive care unit (Level II) in Ozaukee County. In addition, the medical center provides a wide range of advanced services including enhanced cardiac, cancer, orthopedics and stroke care.

Advocate Health's strong partnerships with the military and longstanding support for its veteran teammates have benefitted the health system, the military and ultimately patients.

A new white paper, entitled “Bedside to Battlefield: Advocate Health’s National Strategy for Serving Country and Community,” details the health system’s existing work on this front.

“From my experience of growing up on military bases, I witnessed firsthand the discipline, unity and shared purpose that define our armed forces,” said Eugene A. Woods, CEO of Advocate Health, wrote in the report’s foreword. “Those experiences shaped me deeply. They instilled a lifelong respect for the sacrifices our service members make — and has fueled my personal commitment to ensuring they receive the very best care, both in uniform and as veterans.”
