Wisconsin Chapter for Music Therapy

Hello Wisconsin Music Therapists!
We will be holding a virtual town hall meeting on Wednesday, September 10th at 7:30 PM and we want you to be there to learn about proposed legislation that will create a music therapy license in the state. We are eager to hear your questions and discuss how you can engage in advocacy with our state legislators. The meeting will be recorded and made available.

The Wisconsin music therapy licensure task force has been working with Representative Barbara Dittrich (R-Ocononomowoc) to introduce a music therapy licensure bill this fall. The representative's office has recommended a quick turn around to hold a Hill Day on 9/16/25 to create buzz about the introduction of the bill and we want to keep Wisconsin music therapists informed about this bill regarding licensure.

Joining us at the town hall will be representatives from the national level who have been working with state task forces across the US to establish Music Therapy Licensure.

There will be a Hill Day on Tuesday, September 16th at the State Capitol to continue advocating for music therapy licensure in Wisconsin.

This day will involve a morning training session, review of talking points, and opportunities to practice advocating before meeting with legislators.

Meet our presenters for the Fall CMTE, “The Rhythm of Behavior and Why Music Matters”!

Stacy Stenz, M.S.Ed
Stacy has 3 decades of experience and training in special education. She holds an undergraduate degree from UW-Eau Claire and a graduate degree from UW-Steven’s Point. She also founded Mindflex Counseling and pours into others as a teacher, coach, and education leader. In her free time, Stacy enjoys reading, gardening, and spending time with family.

Tiffany Vollrath, MT-BC, NMT-F™, WMTR
Tiffany is a music therapist at Expressive Therapies, LLC, where she is a clinical supervisor and internship director. Tiffany practices from a trauma-informed and humanistic approach to support clients from a variety of populations. She also serves as the president-elect of the WCMT. In her free time, Tiffany loves camping, cooking, walking her dogs, and spending time with family.

GLR is still looking for nominations for the Assembly of Delegates!

The slate for the 2026-27 GLR Assembly of Delegates slate is open through July 31, 2025.

The Assembly of Delegates is an important organizational component of AMTA. It is comprised of AMTA members who are elected to represent their regions. The Assembly acts as the policy making body and is responsible for overseeing the standards and key documents that govern the music therapy profession.

Serving on the Assembly of Delegates is a great way to ensure that your voice and the views of your colleagues are represented within AMTA governance.
