Mike was diagnosed with stage 3 pancreatic cancer in October 2013 and immediately underwent a 6 hour "Whipple" surgery and 3 months of recovery with several set backs. He went through extensive chemotherapy and radiation for a year, and yet remains positive and determined to fight. Although his life has changed, he chooses to live his life positively , taking each day one moment at a time, inspiring so many others to step back and inhale each moment as if it were their last . He has helped many other cancer patients with his inspirational words of encouragement and offering his help on what works for him that they , too, could use, along with just holding their hand or lending an ear. While recovering from chemotherapy, he taught himself to create these pieces of jewelry which has been very therapeutic for him. November 2016 Update: Michael just received his CAT Scan results, and we are happy to say it is a positive report, no signs of cancer ! He continues to get checked every 3 months . He still has stomach issues, with severe , large hernias from the operation, but Dr's don't want to operate on them at this point in time, as they feel it could be very risky. Mike continues to stay positive and is working on some new jewelry ideas, which will be posted very shortly. He is now working with fine silver , seaglass found on the Jersey shore, as well as semi precious stones .
