Alright Neighbors, we have a new - big - venture to try and assist with. Brightmoor Hospice has a program much like Make a Wish called Second Wind Dreams. We would LOVE to be able to help with some current wishes. They have a gentleman at an assisted living facilities whose last wish is a helicopter ride. Do we have anyone or any connections that could make this hospice patient’s last wish come true?

Let’s use this post to coordinate needs and resources for those affected by the Union Hill apartment fire last night. If you are a victim, family member, or know of a specific need please post below so we as a community can try to help mitigate some of those. I’ve seen 2 gofundme’s posted, so I’ll put those links in the comments below.

💕🌹🍭Valentines flowers and gifts were just dropped off at Haven House. Thank you SO much to everyone who help the women and children at this shelter feel loved this Valentines Day. A special thank you to Mrs. Williams and Mrs. Watkins 3rd graders at Katherine B. Sutton Elementary School for their hard work decorating these beautiful toiletry bags.

Spent this morning with Mrs. Rae Williams sweet 3rd grade class finishing up decorating the rest of our toiletry bags for Haven House. All that’s left now is to fill them with some essentials and get some Valentines sweet treats.

Started off our Valentine’s project with Mrs. Watkins’s class at Katherine B. Sutton Elementary this morning. The kids worked hard decorating these toiletry bags which we will fill with essentials and add to a Valentines gift bag and treats. These gifts will be taken to Haven House in McDonough which is a domestic violence shelter that currently houses approximately 20 women and 15-20 kids.

It’s not too late to get involved and help out if you’re interested 🫶 ways to donate are listed below. We are still hoping to raise enough to get all 20 women a bouquet of Valentines flowers. Any and everything is greatly appreciated!

We will be back at KBS on Friday to make some bags with Mrs. Rae Williams class 🥰

Guess what! Baby Levi has finished radiation and will be getting to pack up and head home soon!! Here’s a sweet video of Levi and his family during his end of treatment bell and song. We can’t wait to have you back home Levi! 🩵🩵 His next set of scans will be in March. Continue to pray for him and his family that they receive clear scans and can put all this behind them 💪🏻. Huge thanks to everyone of you who jumped in to help Levi and his family during this time. You all are appreciated more than you know!

About a week ago, we shared an urgent need for a wheelchair ramp for a stretcher-bound patient. Without a ramp, medical transport could not pick up for a neurology appointment that is scheduled mid February, putting access to critical stroke and seizure medications at risk.

That very same evening, we received a message offering to provide all materials and labor at no cost. Despite freezing temperatures, the ramp was completed quickly — ensuring this family can now access the medical care they desperately needed.

A huge THANK YOU to Robert Muckenfuss, Proform Construction, and the Fosyth Masonic Lodge for stepping up in such a big way. Your generosity has truly changed this family’s life and reminds us what neighbors helping neighbors really looks like.
