Behavior is just the WAY kids communicate the underlying thoughts and feelings! Look past the behaviors to the real communicate underneath.

Haven’t posted in a while, but really felt this today! So important to remember that kids deserve respect just as much as adults. And we can’t expect kids to show respect if they’ve never been taught how (by modeling)!

This! Behavior is the primary form of communication for children. They just want to be HEARD! Respond with empathy and validation and you will see a change in your child’s behavior.

So true, now more than ever. It IS ok to not be ok, especially as we battle through these uncertain times. We have come so far, but mental health is still stigmatized and people are still meant to believe that they must “be ok” at all times. This 👏🏻 is 👏🏻 not 👏🏻 reality!

It’s okay to not be okay, but never give up on yourself.
