Our journey began in July 2020, inspired by my son, Jeremiah, affectionately known as "Miah," who has autism. At Special Heroes Day Program, we specialize in working with a diverse population, providing unwavering commitment to personalized attention and effective communication. Our small, intentional groups ensure that each client receives the individualized support they deserve, tailoring our services to their unique needs and preferences. From engaging social outings to skill-building activities, our small groups create an environment where everyone feels valued. Central to our approach is open and transparent communication. We collaborate closely with each client to understand their goals, preferences, and challenges, fostering a supportive relationship that empowers them to actively participate in their journey towards growth and independence. Our team is dedicated to ensuring that every client feels seen, heard, and supported through regular check-ins, goal-setting sessions, and a listening ear. In addition to our day program services, we are passionate about providing residential services for adults with IDD on the DD waiver. Our commitment extends beyond the program as we strive to create a safe and nurturing environment for individuals to thrive in their daily lives. Special Heroes is not just a service provider; it's a community where meaningful connections are cherished. We actively facilitate social engagement and inclusion, offering volunteering opportunities, recreational activities, and participation in community events. Our goal is to not only expand our clients' social networks but also to enhance their independent living skills. Our crew got a behind-the-scenes look at the fire engine, dive team equipment, and all the tools that help keep our community safe.

From trying on gear to learning about water rescue operations, it was an experience we won’t forget. 💙
