Next month is our public talk with NKT-IKBU Western US National Spiritual Director Gen Kelsang Gomlam.

This American Buddhist nun from Denver will deliver a talk titled "Beyond Fear" at Fort Collins' Bas Bleu Theater on Friday, May 15, from 7-8:30pm. Everyone is welcome to attend!

Gen Gomlam kindly came up to Fort Collins from Denver this week to do a live, on-air interview at the KRFC 88.9FM studios with DJ Kay to promote her May 15 event.

Within just a few seconds of the interview ending, the radio station's phone rang and a gentleman said his heart was touched by Gen Gomlam's words and he wanted to know how he could register to attend the talk.

We'll be celebrating Buddha's Enlightenment Day this week with our annual Nyungnay Purification Fasting Retreat.

Join us for an introduction to the practice on Monday night, 7-8:30pm, followed by the actual retreat on Tuesday and Wednesday, April 14-15.

In order to participate you need to take the Eight Mahayana Precepts with us at 6:30am each day on Tuesday and Wednesday.

New Sunday meditation series starts tomorrow, April 5!

On the heels of learning about karma, we'll explore next how to purify the mind. Through learning how to skillfully engage in purification practice, we can heal our mind of all negativities, painful and hurtful tendencies, and trauma. This practice not only purifies our mind of our inner sources of unhappiness, it also removes obstacles to our making great progress on our spiritual path and liberates us to experience a joyful future.

We're getting ready to celebrate NKT Day this weekend!

The first Saturday in April is set aside to commemorate the founding of the New Kadampa Tradition-International Kadampa Buddhist Union by Venerable Geshe Kelsang in 1991.

The occasion is marked by special events and by pujas and dedications at Kadampa centers worldwide. Prayers are made for the flourishing of Kadam Dharma throughout the world so that all living beings might quickly find permanent inner peace. Above all, we remember the extraordinary kindness of Venerable Geshe Kelsang in founding NKT-IKBU.

At Heruka KMC, we'll engage in Wishfulfilling Jewel chanted prayers with a tsog offering at 6pm, and then gather together to watch a videotaped play of Buddha's Life Story at 7:30pm. Popcorn will be served for the movie portion of the evening.

Pre-registration is not required, however it is customary to bring a vegetarian food offering to chanted prayer practices that include a tsog offering.
