Don’t listen to random people on Facebook groups.

Find people with backgrounds similar to yourself.

Who are going through similar symptoms & have similar goals.

People who are prepared and understand there may be obstacles along the way but who believe they’ll always work to figure it out.

Look to their experiences, their reasons & their long term experiences (years, not weeks).

the good and the bad.

Then make your decisions from there 🫶

If prevention and long term pelvic health are your goals… zoom out!

The research is clear & only getting clearer:

Pelvic floor exercises are a great part of a program but they’re only a part.

The factors that impact whether someone develops stress incontinence, prolapse and other conditions are not just whether they have a strong pelvic floor or not.

Things like posture, connective tissue health, prior pelvic surgery (like hysterectomy), stability, lifestyle habits…. they all matter too.

Our philosophy is to “find the holes in your game.”

On a physical basis: what needs work? Where could you get stronger, more stable or more mobile? Could you learn to absorb force better?

In the lifestyle realm, we ask the same question. Where do you have opportunities for the most impactful improvements? Changing your working posture? Moving more often? Moving less and/or giving yourself more intentional breaks? Managing bowel health better?

The holes in your game will be different from someone else’s.

But they’re YOUR most powerful opportunity to take the best care of your future self.

Our 4-Part Return to Run Series will help you find some of the physical holes in your game.

Your areas of opportunity to be better than ever if you’re willing to put in the work.

If you need a plan to make it happen, that’s a big part what we do in our coaching but we also dive into the lifestyle stuff.

If you haven’t downloaded the screening yet, message us “Return to Run” and we’ll send it your way.

You can be “normal” weight and have high visceral fat.

You can be “overweight” and have very low levels.

If you want body composition data like muscle mass and visceral fat, you have to go private in most parts of the world.

It’s worth it if you want the data on what’s going on amidst your organs.

Message us “return to run” & we’ll link you to our return to run screening for people healing from pelvic surgeries like hysterectomy and prolapse repair.

If you want a plan built for you from pre-surgery through your first run, that’s what my team & I do.

The link in my bio has a video walking you through how it works.

Your pelvis is riding on your legs.

All the pelvic floor exercises in the world can’t make up for a lack of strength & stability in the limbs that carry your pelvis around all day.

Find us on YouTube to see our 4 part series on pelvic floor, impact readiness, strength & stability testing for returning to higher impact exercise after hysterectomy & prolapse repair.

I’ll share my hormone journey in a YouTube video but this post is not about what I use, because it may not be right for you!

This post is about asking for help.

We can be the generation with the lowest ever rates of prolapse, incontinence, osteoporosis related fractures.

We can be the ones with the lowest ever rates of cardiovascular disease.

Change how our daughters see aging for the better.

We can do that by getting help early & often.

Pain in the butt? Yes.

Worth it? Yes.

PS I started using this year and really like it so far! Not being paid to say this 😝

We can’t prevent 100% of pelvic floor problems (maybe someday) but we sure can help our bodies a whole lot by focusing on what we can control.

Leg strength, balance, stability, pressure management.

Our 4-part return to run series will take you through this on YouTube.

But the real impactful work is this:

1. Download the screening
2. Actually DO IT
3. Figure out the things you’re bad at
4. Practice them until you get better
5. Keep doing them often enough to maintain your progress

and please 🙏 strength train if you want to also run

If you want a link to download the screening, send a MESSAGE that says “RUN” and we’ll send it over.

‼️ please go to my profile & send an actual direct message. If you only leave a comment, I can’t promise you’ll get the link.
