Forever Freckled

Forever Freckled A lifestyle blog created by 3 sisters , a pediatrician, a veterinarian, and a fashion consultant Carrie spent many years devoting herself to women's fashion.

The journey of Forever Freckled started with something as simple but as powerful as sisterly advice. If you're lucky enough to grow up with sisters you will understand the incredible bond and unique relationship we all have. For us, sisterhood means always having someone to share in overcoming the challenges and celebrating the joys of life. Through the years we have gone through it all together- childhood, college, careers, dating life, marriages, children- all while sustaining an unbreakable friendship and support for each other. We all have extremely unique journeys with the common trait of providing guidance and advice. Alison utilized her veterinarian degree and built a business to help and guide people with their animal needs. Katie traveled a similar but different path as she went to medical school and dedicated her career to specializing in the needs of children. Working with amazing mentors like Diane Von Furstenberg, she truly understands how and what makes a woman feel beautiful. We have learned and grown from each other’s experiences and expertise while, of course, laughing along the way. Between the three of us, our conversations usually range from fashion, home decor, hosting, and cooking to pediatric and veterinarian advise. Our very unique passions and experiences have become a great source of advice not only for us, but for our family and friends as well. We wanted to create a platform where parents could come to get real medical advice for their children and pets and pick up some great lifestyle tips as well. We hope you will enjoy reading about our journeys as much as we love living them!

COLD vs ALLERGIES 🤧🌿

This is one of the most common questions I get as a pediatrician—especially this time of year. The symptoms can overlap, but a few key clues can help you quickly figure out what your child is dealing with 👇

✨ Think COLD:

• 5–10 days
• Fever common
• Thick yellow/green mucus
• Cough common
• Gradual onset

✨ Think ALLERGIES:

• Weeks to months
• No fever
• Clear, watery runny nose
• Itchy eyes/nose/throat
• Sudden (triggered)

🩺 What helps:

✔️ Cold → fluids, saline + suction, steam, humidifier, honey (>1), rest

✔️ Allergies → limit triggers, antihistamine, saline rinse, shower after outside

🚩 Call your pediatrician if your child has:

• Trouble breathing
• Dehydration / not drinking
• Severe or worsening cough
• Ear pain
• Symptoms >10 days
• Not acting like themselves
• Fever >3 days (or any fever

Your kid’s stuffed animal collection is officially taking over the room! If you’re constantly stepping on stuffies, running out of storage, or just don’t know where to put them anymore… this is your sign.

✨ Enter: the CUTEST solution that actually works!

This net hammock not only frees up floor space, but doubles as decor (win-win). I love how it keeps everything off the ground while still letting your little one see and grab their favorites.

✔️ Instantly clears clutter
✔️ Uses that awkward corner space
✔️ Comes in so many colors to match any room
✔️ Makes the stuffed animal chaos actually look… cute??

Honestly one of those simple mom hacks that makes a BIG difference 🙌

Save this for your next playroom refresh or if your kid’s stuffies are out of control.

Comment “PLAYROOM” below for a direct link to these 2 viral items! ✨

New year, fresh start — and I am fully in my get-organized era. 🙌

If you’re ready to tackle playroom clutter without overthinking it, these two viral Target finds are the easiest win.

If you know, you know — the viral pencil case at Target? It’s not just for pencils. 🎯

As a mom, I’m always looking for smart, simple ways to reset our space and stay organized long-term — and these are true game-changers:

🖍️ The pencil case → Perfect for crayons, markers, figurines, stickers, art supplies, fidget toys… even snacks for on-the-go. I use them for travel, toy rotation, and diaper bag essentials too.
✨ Pro tip: check the dollar section — there are smaller, budget-friendly options that work just as well.

🧩 The colorful zip storage bags → Ideal for puzzles, card games, mini crafts, and all those tiny toy pieces that always disappear. Total game-changer for puzzle storage.

They’re durable, colorful, and easy enough for kids to carry and clean up themselves — which means less chaos and more independence (we love that).

New year = less clutter, more calm ✨
And anything that helps keep toy mess under control? Automatic yes from me.

Run, don’t walk… before they’re gone again. 😅
