The Labor Loop

The Labor Loop Your loop through labor, delivery and beyond To make labor and delivery better, faster and more enjoyable! It took me a year to get it how I wanted it.

My second child's birth inspired me to create The Labor Loop. It is something I wish I had during my labor and deliveries to ease the force of contractions and help me feel like I had some control over how intense everything felt. I discovered numerous uses for it along the way... The more I share it, the more uses are discovered by other users. While I was leaning over the birthing tub during contractions, I pulled the plastic birth tub liner, grasping and stretching it apart. I remember it being uncomfortable on my fingers and nails, but the pulling helped me to focus and manage the overall force of the contractions, as well as also control my urge to push. Every time I felt a contraction, I felt like I needed something to hold on to or squeeze and pull. When I saw the indents I had made in the plastic after Stella was born (thanks to my mom for pointing that out), I realized there was a need for an object that would help women in labor to better manage the force of a contraction; something to pull on, and something to hold on to that had resistance but did not hurt the hands. Towels were too bulky and cumbersome to hold on to, plus they have no stretch or give, they were also heavy to hold for long periods of time and not versatile enough for what I needed. I know towels are common to use, but I wanted something that I could control and let go of, and it had to be light weight and stretchy. I experimented with countless fabrics, different shapes and sizes and I finally found what I consider to be the perfect shape and size with just the right amount of stretch. I want to share my invention with moms everywhere because I know it will help them through their birthing journeys in so many ways!

General information

The Labor Loop - through labor, delivery and beyond! The LABOR LOOP is a soft, stretchy birth accessory and tool for any type of vaginal birth that uses the laboring womans' own strength along with resistance, to help her push more efficiently and effectively by pulling on and holding the loop. This can make the pushing phase easier to manage making it faster, because each push is more productive. A more natural birth can be achieved with less opportunity for unwanted interventions such as vacuum, forceps. or even a c-section if pushing is becomming too difficult on mom. It can be used anywhere and with anyone - hospital, birthing center and home, with or without a birth partner and is ideal for both medicated and unmedicated births.
