This year marked Dr. Jonathan Frantz’s 10th year participating in the national Mission Cataract program. Over the past decade, Dr. Frantz and his dedicated team have performed more than 95 cataract surgeries at no cost for patients across Florida who lack insurance or financial means. This year was no exception — the team treated 13 patients from all over Florida, and even one from as far away as Macon, Georgia.
“There is not a single one of us who hasn’t experienced loss,” shared Dr. Frantz. “Bad things happen to good people. Through no fault of their own, many of these patients had lost hope — and we wanted to give that back.”
