The very first baby born with Peaceful Beginnings North turned ONE on St. Patrick’s Day 🍀

After many years attending births with Peaceful Beginnings Midwifery Care, this sweet family became part of the very beginning of a new chapter for me. She was the first baby of Peaceful Beginnings North, and her family was also among the first clients I saw in my new office when I transitioned from home visits to an office space, which makes them extra special to me.

It was such a joy to care for them through pregnancy, birth, and postpartum, and it makes my heart so happy to see them flourishing and growing as a family. Watching the families I work with thrive is one of the greatest gifts of this work.

Mom and Dad are the wonderful team behind , and they care for families with the same intention, knowledge, and heart that they bring to their own home. If you are looking for chiropractic care, I highly recommend them.

Six-week visit with this beautiful family 💙

Repeat clients are always extra special, and it has been such a joy caring for this sweet crew again. After three girls, they welcomed their baby boy, and his big sisters are completely in love with him. Every visit they had something to show me, little trinkets they made, stories to tell, and so many things they wanted to share. They made every appointment feel like catching up with friends.

Today they were especially excited because they asked me to bring Toby, so after our visit we had puppy playtime outside 🐶 The girls were in heaven, baby was content, and mama — as always — so patient, calm, and full of love.

These are the moments that remind me why I love this work so much. Watching families grow, being welcomed back again, and getting to see the joy unfold over time is the greatest honor.

Standing here with this incredible mama and her three children — all of whom I had the honor of welcoming into the world — fills my heart with so much gratitude. Being invited back birth after birth is something I never take for granted. Watching families grow and witnessing the strength and love of mothers in their own homes is truly one of the greatest privileges of my life.

Serving women and their families during pregnancy, birth, and beyond isn’t just my work — it’s my calling. I feel so deeply grateful for the trust my clients place in me during such sacred moments.

This photo also includes a little piece of my own world — my daughter and our puppy joined in the moment too — a sweet reminder that birth work is rooted in family, community, and connection.

Tender ni***es in the early days of breastfeeding are very common.

Often the solution is a small adjustment in latch or positioning while both mother and baby are learning. A few simple things that can help include:

• Waiting for baby to open wide before latching
• Bringing baby to the breast (instead of leaning forward)
• Keeping baby tummy-to-tummy with you
• Remembering that a deep latch should not feel pinchy

While things are adjusting, protecting tender skin can make a big difference.

One of my clients recently introduced me to a botanical ni**le balm made by her mother’s natural skincare company, and I’ve been impressed with how soothing it can be during those early weeks of frequent feeding.

Toby had his first day in the office today 🐾

He soaked up lots of love, happily greeted everyone, and truly seemed to enjoy meeting each person who walked through the door. I’m proud to say he handled it all beautifully — no accidents and all good manners.

It felt really sweet to have his calm, gentle presence in our space. I think he’s going to fit in just perfectly. 💛

✨ A Little Office Update ✨

Life sure has a funny way of changing…🐾

We welcomed a new addition to our family today — Toby, a 10-week-old goldendoodle puppy!

For the next couple of months, he’ll occasionally be joining me at the office while we work on early training and potty skills. He’s just 5 pounds, hypoallergenic, and will always be closely supervised.

If you have allergies, sensitivities, or would feel more comfortable without a puppy present during your visit, please don’t hesitate to let me know. Your comfort and safety always come first. 💛
