If you need coffee to have a bowel movement every morning
 that’s a signal — not a solution.

Coffee can stimulate your system.
But it’s not fixing why your body isn’t initiating that on its own.

Because healthy digestion isn’t random.

It’s driven by:
your nervous system
your thyroid + metabolic function
stomach acid + bile flow
cellular energy

When those are supported → your body knows how to move.

When they’re not → you start relying on something external to force it.

And over time, that becomes the new normal.

But “normal” doesn’t always mean optimal.

I see this all the time — people doing everything “right”
and still feeling backed up, bloated, or off.

Not because they need more fiber or another supplement

but because the system underneath isn’t being supported in the right order.

This is where we start.

If you feel like you’re doing everything right but your body still feels off OR you’ve “normalized” lingering symptoms — it’s usually not random.

Most people just haven’t been taught how their body actually works.

I broke this down into 5 simple parts — from energy, gut health, hormones, to performance — so you can finally understand what’s going on and where to start.

More coming soon.

When she came to me, she hadn’t had a normal bowel movement in over 15 years.

She wasn’t doing anything “wrong.”

She was:
eating clean
working out
taking supplements

but still dealing with constipation, poor sleep, and high stress.

Instead of adding more, we changed the approach.

We focused on supporting her body first —
nervous system, digestion, daily rhythms, and building a more balanced foundation.

Her metabolic scorecard improved from 231 → 165 in about 8 weeks.

And more importantly —
her body started responding.

Digestion improved.
Bowel movements became consistent.
Sleep deepened.
Energy stabilized.

This is why I don’t start with more supplements or more protocols.

I start with supporting the body in the right order.

Because when the body feels safe and supported,
it will often start doing what it’s meant to do.

If you’re struggling with digestion or feel stuck,
start with the basics — they matter more than most people realize.

If you want help understanding your patterns, message me “GUT”.

If you feel stuck with your health, it’s usually not just one thing.

It’s patterns.

Some of the most common ones I see:

— thyroid function not working optimally
— blood sugar and inflammation imbalances
— digestion and nutrient absorption issues

And sometimes something as simple as inconsistent bowel movements can play a bigger role than people realize.

This is why we look at the body as a whole instead of chasing one symptom at a time.

If you want help understanding your patterns, message me “LABS.”

When someone tells me they feel stuck with their health or chronic symptoms are still lingering.. they often assume the answer is another supplement or protocol.

But something many people overlook is drainage pathways.

Aka - the body needs to be able to process and eliminate waste efficiently through systems like the gut, liver, kidneys, and lymphatic system.

If elimination isn’t happening well, the body can struggle to rebalance — even when you’re doing many of the “right” things.

Before diving deep into protocols - we need to support the foundations and get drainage flowing!

A few simple ways you can do that today:
— Aim for regular bowel movements (ideally daily)
— Hydrate consistently, especially in the morning
— Go for walks or light movement to support lymphatic flow
— Prioritize sleep and stress regulation
— Eat fiber-rich whole foods to support digestion & CHEW your food

These basics may seem simple, but they play a big role in how the body processes and eliminates waste.

Once those systems are functioning well, patterns in things like gut health, hormones, thyroid function &, nutrient status often become much clearer.

Moral of the story — get things flowing. If this resonates, feel free to message me “LABS” and I’m happy to share how I approach identifying root-cause patterns. đŸ€“

Getting “unstuck” isn’t always about doing more.

Sometimes it’s about slowing down enough to understand what your body actually needs.

My work always comes back to three things:

Foundations.
Patterns.
Longevity.

Because real performance starts with root-cause health.

Her TSH was elevated, so her medication was increased. That helped bring the number into range — which is important. But she still felt exhausted, foggy, and off.

So we looked deeper.

Instead of focusing only on TSH, we reviewed her full thyroid panel and broader patterns. Her Free T4 was high-normal, her Free T3 was low, and her antibodies were elevated. In other words, medication was increasing circulating hormone — but her body wasn’t converting and using it efficiently.

Thyroid function isn’t just about one number. It can be influenced by gut health, liver pathways, mineral status, inflammation, stress and toxin burden.

Once we started addressing the full picture, her energy improved, digestion normalized, and she began feeling more stable in her body.

Conventional medicine is excellent at diagnosing and managing disease. Functional care focuses on optimizing how the system works. Both matter.

If you’ve been told your thyroid is “fine” but you don’t feel fine, it may be worth looking at the full picture 😁
