🎉 A (fashionably late) but very heartfelt birthday shoutout to the amazing Valerie Rumple, NP! 🎈💙

Life at Viking Psychiatry has been beautifully full and while this post is a little behind, our appreciation for Valerie is always front and center. Almost a year into her time with us, Valerie continues to bring compassion, clinical excellence, and a whole lot of joy to our team and the patients she serves.

"Beyond Understanding"

Mr. Goddard wrote this poem from a place of compassion and reflection, thinking of those who've experienced the profound and often confusing grief of losing someone to su***de. A professor of his recently lost a family member in this way. Such losses leave us with countless unanswered questions, guilt, sadness, and confusion. This poem serves as a gentle reminder that even though the pain may seem beyond comprehension, love and memories remain strong.
May this poem comfort those who grieve, reminding us all that while we might never fully understand another’s inner struggles, their life and our love for them are precious and enduring.

We are thrilled to announce that Dr. Andrea Naaum will join the Viking Psychiatry team at the end of June!
Dr. Naaum is a dedicated psychiatrist who has been practicing since 2018. She brings a wealth of experience from diverse settings, including inpatient care, intensive outpatient programming, and assertive community treatment. She earned her honors bachelor's degree in biochemistry from the University of Windsor. She completed her medical degree at Saba University School of Medicine and her psychiatric residency at the University of Maryland/Sheppard Pratt.
Dr. Naaum specializes in Transcranial Magnetic Stimulation (TMS), an effective, non-medication treatment option for depression and other mental health conditions. At Viking Psychiatry, she will focus exclusively on TMS treatment and will not accept medication management clients.
We are also excited that Viking Psychiatry now accepts Medicare clients for TMS! This represents a significant step forward in expanding access to cutting-edge mental health treatments in our community.
Dr. Naaum is passionate about creating an open, trusting environment, committed to compassion, empowerment, and helping patients achieve their personal goals.

It’s a message rooted in hope, love, and the belief that healing begins with being seen.

At Viking Psychiatry, we see the powerful role that stories play in shaping identity and mental wellness. This book represents more than a personal milestone, it’s a continuation of our mission to reduce stigma, promote emotional connection, and advocate for mental health from the earliest years of life.
