Sabin Howard’s remarkable sculpture "A Soldier’s Journey" - an incredible, visceral homage to the reality of war. Today is the perfect day to reflect on its message. The unveiling of the epic 38-figure, 58'-long bronze relief sculpture was at sunset of Sept. 13th during a "First Illumination" ceremony at the Nat'l WWI Memorial in Washington, D.C. to the fanfare of 20 buglers dressed in authentic WWI uniforms. I don't have many regrets in this life; missing this event is one. We owe the brave men and women who sacrifice everything, from war-to-war more honor and respect than they are shown. The only thing that deserves more honor and appreciation is the sacrifice Christ made for our salvation. Please take time out of your weekend to at least acknowledge why you enjoy a 3-day weekend this weekend. Had it not been for the selfless individuals who bore our freedoms and our dreams for the future on their backs, the world would be a much different, much darker place.

Spanish-style Fried Rice Soccurat… ground beef, garlic, shallots, green onion, cauliflower, bell peppers, fire-roasted tomatoes, brown rice, egg whites, chiles, turmeric, smoked paprika, oregano, thyme, sea salt, black pepper all cooked until nice and crispy (soccurat).

Hunan Chicken Stir-fry - chicken breast, onion, green onion, shallots, garlic, broccoli stems, zucchini, orange bell pepper, ginger, Szechuan chiles (2), soy sauce, sriracha, date syrup all stir fried together and served over cauliflower rice.

First meal since I started a fast Sunday afternoon. Why did I fast? Prayer, clarity of thought and physical cleansing. All 3 were accomplished on some level.
Yes, critical Christian person, I know it is supposed to be done in secret. But unless we talk about it with the right heart for instruction and edification of the Spirit, how will people know how to do it or that it works… so sit down and be quiet. Thank you and God bless you.

Hatch Green Chile, Shallot & Bacon Cheeseburger

Homemade almond flour bun (amazing!) charbroiled garlic burger patty, grilled shallots, Hatch Green Chiles and antibiotic- and hormone-free bacon and cheddar cheese with a side of green chile-cheddar nachos (grain-free tortilla chips) and kim-chi (yep!)…nearly lost my mind!!
