my workout routine as a mom x2 down 25lbs šŸ’ŖšŸƒā€ā™€ļø

I’m currently training for a half marathon race so I’m running way more than usual.
My typical week of workouts looks likeā¤µļøšŸ‹ļøā€ā™€ļø:
-šŸ‹ļøā€ā™€ļøStrength training: 3-4x per week (upper + lower x2 quad + glute focused)
-šŸƒā€ā™€ļøRunning: 30-45 min 3x per week
-šŸ‘£Steps: 8k per day (running helps but on days I don’t run, I have to be intention with walking)

My goal is always consistency > crazy, intense workouts

Your workouts don’t always need to leave your legs shaking & you so sore you can’t get off the toilet 🚽🤣
They need to be planned with INTENTION ~ in a way that fits your life, keeps you moving, & gets you results.

I CAN get a quality workout in in under 30 mins ~ if I have extra time, I’ll use it to do more. And that (with good nutrition) has helped me maintain a 25lb fat loss.

Stop guessing every day. Get a plan that actually works for your body, schedule, & goals.

This all feels so normal to me but it’s the stuff you’re skipping.

My meals & workouts aren’t fancy, perfect or esthetic.
But they are so simple that they’re easy to stay consistent with so I can actually make progress.

1. Eat the same things on repeat
2. Rest when needed
3. Squeeze in movement when I can ~ sometimes it’s steps > workouts (whatever I can get done fastest)
4. Stop eating before I’m stuffed
5. Eat a little protein + fiber before going out so I’m not filling up on the wrong stuff
6. Build my meals around protein + fiber + fun

Your perception of ā€œhealthyā€ food & what your body actually NEEDS aren’t always the same… & that gap is stalling your weight loss progress.

This isn’t about restriction or cutting out the foods you love.
It’s about KNOWING + EDUCATION - because you cannot make intentional choices with incomplete information. Awareness isn’t meant to be punishment, it’s meant to give you POWER.

So let me simplify this for you ā¤µļø
it’s not the *perfect* plan that gets results… it’s the one you can stick to when your baby’s not sleeping or your nights are spent at the ball field šŸ§‘ā€šŸ¼āš¾ļøšŸ§¢

You don’t have to do everything every day.
But you *do* have to do something.

A few small things, done consistently over time is what *actually* creates change.

Start small ~ Stay consistent ~ That’s the game.

the people showing up day in & day out to exercise or eat healthier or have a body you admire…. aren’t more motivated than you
they just stopped waiting to *feel* like it & started doing it anyway.

that version of you that feels confident, has energy, moves easily, & doesn’t have to think twice about keeping up with her kids? she’s not built on motivated days.

she’s built on the ordinary ones. 🩷

not because I’m against people doing what’s best for their health but because I can feel THE shift happening again…..
smaller = better
smaller = worthy.

& I spent too much of my life feeling like that & worked too dang hard to go back that way

I’m a 180lb marathon runner who spent years learning to TRUST what my body can DO, rather than hating it for how it looked. I’m not trading that.

The amount of guilt + confusion moms are made to feel about feeding our kids is actually insane.

The internet has moms convinced that if your kid eats anything with red dye, artificial sugar, or a crinkle cut shape… you’ve failed them.🫠

And I get it. As a Nutritionist + Mom x2, I care deeply about what goes into my kids’ bodies.

BUT my goal is not perfectly fed kids, it’s INFORMED kidsā€¼ļø

My kids will eat donuts EVERY.SINGLE.FRIDAY. without thinking twicešŸ©. They’ll eat a pizza Lunchable + ask for a protein shake after because they know it won’t keep them full.

THAT ^^ doesn’t happen by accident. It’s a result of LEADING BY EXAMPLE. As a mom, it’s your OBLIGATION to consistently & casually lead by example without making food a big, dramatic thing.

These Confetti Muffins took me less than 30 minutes. My kids LOVE them & they have no idea that the ingredients are better. (Which is kinda the whole point🤣)!

You don’t need a perfect kitchen.
Tons of extra time.
To rid your entire pantry/freeze of dyes & artificial sweeteners …

You just need to find a few simple swaps that fit seamlessly into your life.
