Yesterday, we harvested the last of the fresh dill growing in our garden to prepare for freezing temps arriving in north Texas tonight.🥶 Some was stored standing in a jar of water (like a bouquet of flowers) for use in the next few days. This storage technique will keep fresh herbs longer than dry stems stored in a plastic clamshell container. The remains dill was washed, dried & chopped, then, placed in one teaspoon portions in each well of an ice cube tray. One teaspoon of avocado oil was added to each “cube” and stored in the freezer. When frozen, cubes can be popped out of the tray into a freezer bag and kept frozen for future batches of Lemon & Dill Vinaigrette Salad Dressing! 🥗
