Our precious daughter Lilah was diagnosed with Acute Myeloid Leukemia on May 25, 2022

* Long overdue Lilah update *

Life has been hard lately adjusting to our new norm without my dad but we are taking it day by day. Lilah had a big day at Cook Childrenns for normal check up & labs with her transplant team. She always does amazing during blood draws. Next up was ECHO & EKG, these are regular yearly tests for her now due to the damage chemo has on pediatric hearts. Overall her labs & testing came back normal!! She had the best time running around the campus, passing out Valentine badge reels we made last night ❤️

We ran into our favorite Auntie America at the Galentine event where Lilah got to make her own swag bag & fill it up with Valentine goodies. We are so thankful for these events at the medical center for our little babes!!

2 years cancer FREE!!!!!!! Happy 2nd rebirthday to our warrior princess Lilah!!! Happy 2nd bone marrow donation anniversary to Grayson !! We are blessed with the most amazing twins that bring us joy every single day 🥹🧡🎗️

The beads Lilah is holding are Beads of Courage, which represents her courage & accomplishments throughout her cancer journey. Every bead has a meaning: red for blood product transfusions, yellow for every overnight hospital stay, black for everytime she was poked with a needle. Lilah has over 1100 beads. I was the MOST emotional stringing those beads together, wondering how I got so lucky to be their mom 🥹

Today is World AML Day. A day to bring awareness to a horrible cancer. Why is this important? Because:

Alina Jade, angel 👼🏼 forever age 2
Clarke, fighter 💪🏼 age 5
Roger, survivor 🧡 age 1
Michael, angel 👼🏼 forever age 1
Elliott, fighter 💪🏼 age 4
Caitlin, survivor 🧡 age 13
Ray Ray, fighter 💪🏼 age 5
Turner, survivor 🧡 age 3
Kaydence, survivor 🧡 age 2
Charley, survivor 🧡 age 3

And the list goes on. We are part of a very small & unlucky cancer family but we are strong. Raising awareness helps to shed light & funding on this devastating cancer so more babies can be saved. We need more clinical trials. More new drug & therapy development. More research. Our babies deserve more hope for a cure 🎗️

BMT +16 months: A long overdue update on Lilah!! She is thriving in the survivorship phase of her cancer journey and we couldn’t be happier. Lilah and Grayson are enjoying time being normal siblings & fighting daily lol.

She is still has monthly oncology visits for labs with mediport flush and everything looked great today! Her chimerism labs still hover in the 98-99% Grayson’s cells and blood counts increase every month. She is scheduled for one final surgery in March to have her mediport removed and clinic visits will space out to every 2 months!!

Lilah still struggles with vomiting & feeding therapy, we are hopeful she will one day eat food orally again. Regardless, she is growing rapidly & outweighs Grayson! We continue to celebrate every milestone & cherish the time at home together 🎗️🧡

It’s our favorite time of year where we throw all fundraising efforts into the Blast Away Cancer 5k!

Many of you know Lilah spent majority of 2022 inside Cook Children’s Hospital in the oncology unit where she fought cancer at the age of 1. We cried a lot, laughed a lot and grew closer as a family during those awful months. Today, she is a thriving almost 3 year old who is loving life outside CANCER FREE 🎗️🧡 We are so grateful for the world-class care she received & will forever be supporting their efforts in providing the very best pediatric cancer care in North Texas.

Please join us for this family fun event on April 6, 2024 at Panther Island Pavilion! Last year we raised over $3,000 & took home the Most Spirited Team award! 😍 Cannot wait to show up even BIGGER this year!! See you there!
