You came for the dog quotes, admit it lol
✨Handstand Tips:
- First key ingredient may not be what you think…
PERSEVERANCE. A lot of times folks believe it’s ego that gets you up there. What most don’t realize? Letting the ego go. It takes a lot of refusing to give up and a whole bunch of self honesty. It’s a humbling experience.
- Working with someone that “speaks your language”. Handstands are a physical practice but let us not forget the mental aspect. Having someone to help guide you that uses cues that agree with you, makes the difference.
- Spend time on your holds. Spend time on your line.
Spend time on putting them together.
- Train frequently. Waiting for the water to boil? Practice. Watching your favorite show? Practice. We’re not going for perfect, we’re going for consistent.
- Find your favorite wrist, shoulder, core, etc. warm ups / drills. Commit to 5-10 minutes before practicing.
- Kicking yourself up against the wall is not enough. You want to feel what it’s like to have the weight on your hands, shifting your center of balance. Even how your hands are constantly making small adjustments is important to note.
Some of my favorite drills:
⭐️ Serratus presses
⭐️ Dynamic hollow body
⭐️ Unsupported back to wall
⭐️ Crow rocks
