Today, we remember Rev. Dr. Martin Luther King, Jr.—a theologian, organizer, dreamer, and truth-teller who refused to settle for quiet despair when the world demanded liberated witness. His legacy is not frozen in history; it is alive in every classroom, every march, every vote, every sermon, every bold act of love, and every young person who believes their voice matters.
May we honor him not only with quotes, but with action. Not only with memories, but with movement. Not only with dreams, but with a disciplined commitment to justice, dignity, and the beloved community.
The work continues. The dream evolves. And we remain steadfast.

This morning, Dr. Gordon had the incredible honor of being a Black History Month Mystery Reader at Leadership Academy at Como Elementary School. Despite the bitter 11-degree start to the day, the bright and engaged students brought warmth, hope, and joy into the air. "I came to share a story with them, but I left deeply inspired by them."

Black History Month is a time to honor the legacy, resilience, and brilliance of Black individuals who have shaped history and continue to inspire progress. It’s a moment to reflect on the struggles overcome, the cultural contributions made, and the ongoing fight for justice and equality. This month is not only about remembering the past but also about creating a future where every achievement is acknowledged, every voice is valued, and every opportunity is accessible. Let it be a reminder that Black history is not confined to February—it’s woven into the fabric of our everyday lives, calling us to engage, educate, and uplift.
