My environment is making me happy! I am currently experiencing environmental wellness. Being aware of our surroundings and how they affect our mental and emotional health is key. The flowers and herbs I planted are exploding and the beauty is bringing me so much joy! I received a bird feeder as a gift and am delighted watching the birds. AND the fireflies have returned and that brings out the child in me! Living in a pleasant and stimulating environment is good for your health! What in your environment is bringing you joy?

How often do you think about your social wellness? As a reminder, there are 8 dimensions of wellness (see graphic). Social wellness involves building and maintaining healthy and authentic connections, fostering a sense of belonging, and engaging in supportive social interactions. I had a sweet reminder of this recently after a really special trip to celebrate a friend’s birthday. We ate meals together, shared meaningful conversations, laughed, played and rested. I came home so satisfied and full of gratitude. I truly experienced the feeling of belonging and authentic community. Then, as if that wasn’t enough, a dear, long-time friend surprised me (with the help of my husband) by coming to Tennessee to visit. It was such a time of encouragement and deep connection. To have someone take the time and resources to invest in our friendship meant the world to me. After these experiences, I was reminded of the value of social wellness. My heart is full and that is priceless.

It was an intimate gathering for Meals Together: Cozy Nights Edition as we celebrated friendship in a warm and comfortable setting. We prepared and enjoyed a grain-free chocolate zucchini cake, chocolate-covered strawberries and tea from beautiful tea cups. The backdrop of candles, flowers, and the fireplace added to the Valentine’s-themed experience. I would love to host you and the special women in your life for a time to pause and connect around wellness, rich conversation, friendship and of course delicious food.
