24 weeks and I can’t believe how fast this pregnancy has flown by! I am not a fan of taking belly pics, but I want to hold on to these memories because they pass by so quickly! I am so excited to meet this baby! Starting to look forward to preparing for a home birth this time- stay tuned, I will start posting about what I’m doing to prepare ❤️

This picture represents the last 4 months of pregnancy for me..

I thought that because this was my fourth pregnancy coupled with the fact I’m a seasoned mama maybe I would bypass morning sickness this time, or that I’d be strong enough to push through it regardless of how I felt BUT…
this time morning sickness hit HARD at 5 weeks pregnant. I was unable to do almost anything.
Even with all my doula knowledge of things to help cope with morning sickness, nothing and I mean NOTHING helped or even took the edge off.

My kids have miraculously survived the last 4 months eating almost nothing but ramen noodles and goldfish. They have watched more movies in the last 4 months than they have in their entire lives. I’m not even sure if their teeth were brushed twice a day most days..
My house has been completely neglected. I think I’ve folded laundry once..
I haven’t been able to get back to text messages or phone calls.

And now that I’m coming out on the other side of sickness at now 16 weeks of pregnancy, I have SO MUCH grace for mamas that are dealing with severe sickness while trying to take care of other kids or even just themselves!
I want you to know that you’re not alone!
It’s OK to leave dishes in the sink. it’s OK to feed your kids snacks for dinner. it’s OK to leave your house a mess. it’s OK to go lay down if you need to. It’s OK to be the bare minimum. This is real life! I’ve had to have a lot of grace for myself and if this is or was you, it’s OK! You’re still an amazing mother! It’s just a season 💜

Also shoutout to my incredible husband for basically being a single parent for the last couple months! Parrish, you’re amazing and none of us could have survived without you!

This is a review written by my client Krislyn from Virginia who gave birth to her second baby via VBAC (vaginal birth after C-Section) in July. After an unexpected transfer to the hospital due to exhaustion, she was still able to give birth vaginally and completely unmedicated! She did an amazing job and I was so honored to be a part of her birth! Here is her review:

Libby was my first doula experience, and it was so positive, that I can definitely say I will be hiring her again for future pregnancies. My dream was for a supernatural childbirth--one without pain. I didn't even know "supernatural" was the keyword for this until I met Libby.

I wanted to do an unassisted birth with this pregnancy, and was looking for someone who understood this vision and could get on board with it. So I had been praying for someone special to go on this journey with us.

God guided my husband to Libby, and I was immediately in love. She was what I had been looking for! She was on board from the start.

I can't begin to explain how indispensible she was. Libby's knowledge and experience began to raise my confidence that my body knew how to give birth, and that God had his hand on my pregnancy.

During my last few weeks of pregnancy, I would check in with her daily and tell her how I was feeling. She in turn would use her extensive knowledge to reassure me that everything was proceeding according to plan. She also helped me with mindset work to not be afraid of what birth was going to be like.

I am SO GLAD I hired her as my doula. Unmedicated labor can be very intense. I didn't get what I wanted as far as pain free birth, but everything else went absolutely smoothly.

She made labor so much easier by encouraging me and telling me where I was in the process, explaining what was happening to my body, and showing me positions that might help make transition and the pushing phase easier. Every time I screamed, she was right there telling me how awesome I was doing. She provided needed distraction and stress relief through each contraction, and was able to suggest ways that I could be more comfortable, all of which really helped me deal with the pain.

Libby also excels at photography, and thanks to her I have absolutely beautiful pictures and video of my entire birth. It is inspirational and I can't believe how blessed I am that she captured the moment. I didn't think I would care, but once I saw the results, I really did, and I was glad that we had hired her, yet again.
Libby didn't return home until about an hour after the baby was born, having made sure that mama and baby were both safe and in good care. Whenever I thanked her for her support, all she would say in return was to thank us for allowing her to be a part of our birth.

She is truly amazing, in tune with God, supportive regardless of situation, and a breath of fresh air in a situation that is as intense as it is miraculous. If you are looking for a doula, HIRE HER. She is worth it 300%.

Well this is a record! I attended two births only 29
Hours apart (due dates were 3 weeks apart!)
One was born 8:44 pm on July 3rd and the other was born at 1:35 am on July 4th!
It was so incredible to be a part of those births in such a short time! I am so grateful for the mamas that choose me to be a part of their journey 🙌🏻💜 What an honor it is to be your doula!

Baby Boy born at 8:44 pm last night! After a 12+ active labor mama gave birth naturally (VBAC) to a healthy baby boy! Congratulations Isaac & Krislyn! 💙
