Bhutanese-Nepali Refugee Task Force

Alarmed by the dramatic social, economic, health, and spiritual needs of the newly arrived Bhutanese-Nepali refugees in the Nashville, Tennessee community, the Bhutanese-Nepali Refugee Task Force was formed by concerned business and community leaders to address the transition of these refugees from South Asia to Middle Tennessee. This unofficial, unincorporated coalition, functioning in the name of Jesus Christ, is collaborating in the search for employment, transportation, health care, and other basic human needs. Through the ministry of Transformation Nepal, based in Kathmandu Nepal, people are being served prior to departure from Asia as well as upon arrival in Nashville. A centerpiece of this Task Force will be a fundraising event scheduled for August 20, 2009 in conjunction with the premier of the film Journey To Everest at the Thoroughbred Cinemas in Franklin, Tennessee.
