What diet shifts have you found helpful in your Hashimoto's journey? I know you feel like this can be a HUGE step to shift your diet. You're gonna be okay!😎
Top 3 Diet Hacks for living with Hashimoto's:
1. Go Gluten-free: 🥖 I know this can be the hardest thing to wrap your head around. However, research supports a GF lifestyle for all auto-immune diseases because gluten can "fool" your immune system into thinking it needs to ramp up inflammation, and that's the last thing you need.
2. Manage your blood sugar 🍪 by prioritizing protein, vegetables, and then, starchy foods like potatoes or winter squash.
3. Understand your nutritional deficiencies. Most of my Hashimoto clients are vitamin D and B-complex, especially B-12 deficient. But if you don't know you may be wasting your money on supplements that aren't working or you don't need. Whether through me( I work 100% virtually via Zoom and to order labs) or another Functional Medicine Doctor, your labs should help discover your specific and personal nutritional needs.
