It's hard to believe that it has been 22 years since our nation experienced one of the most tragic events in history. Today, we remember the lives lost and the heroic efforts of the first responders and healthcare professionals who responded to the 9/11 attacks.

New year deductible resets can be a challenge for many patients and their families, especially on top of rising costs and holiday bills. However, there are several benefits to a fresh start…
1. Preventative care: Now is the time to schedule preventative services like physicals, immunizations, and certain screenings that most health insurance policies cover in full.
2. Pre-tax savings: Take advantage of tax breaks by utilizing an FSA or HSA to pay for medical expenses. Some FSA plans allow you to roll over $500 with a 2 ½ month grace period to pay for medical expenses in the new year.
3. Schedule early: By scheduling a procedure or surgery earlier in the year you can meet your deductible sooner, pay less out-of-pocket for the remainder of 2023, and beat the year-end scheduling rush.
4. Pay over time: Many providers offer payment plans to help extend payments in smaller increments, but be sure to ask about fees upfront.
