🐾 Hanging with Hazel 🐾
This week, we talked a lot about where we put our energy. Turns out, giving too much attention to things we can’t control can make recovery a lot harder. My humans practiced focusing on what is in their control—like their choices, their boundaries, and how they take care of themselves each day. I think that’s pretty smart… I only chase the ball I can catch 🎾
They also talked about values and motivation—figuring out what really matters now, and how to line actions up with those things. Recovery isn’t just about stopping old behaviors, it’s about building a life that actually feels meaningful.
Another big theme? One day at a time. The group reflected on past missteps (no judgment here—I’ve knocked over a few things myself 🐾), and focused on what they can do today to build a healthier future.
But my favorite part this week was seeing connection and support in action. When one of my humans was having a hard time—the rest started sharing encouragement, and showing real care for each other. It reminded me that recovery isn’t something you do alone… it’s something you do together.
From what I observed (very professionally, of course), the strongest progress happens when people:
💙 Focus on what they can control
💙 Stay aligned with their values
💙 Take it one day at a time
💙 Show up for each other
I’ll be back next week 🐾
