Eggs have had a bad rap over the years, but they are truly a phenomenal brain healthy food. They are full of Choline.

Choline is an essential nutrient for the brain. It functions as a powerful neuroprotectant and is a precursor to the neurotransmitter acetylcholine which plays a critical role in memory formation and the creation and maintenance of synapses, the connections between brain cells.

Individuals with Alzheimer’s disease have lower levels of the enzyme that converts choline into acetylcholine in the brain. This makes meeting choline needs all the more important.

It's hard to believe it has been 2 years since starting out on this journey!

When I began, I initially wanted to focus on individuals diagnosed with or experiencing symptoms of dementia, but quickly realized that I would make a bigger impact if I could focus on prevention and helping people never get cognitive decline in the first place.

I'm so excited for the evolution we have gone through and continue to do so!

We have been able to help people gain insight into their current risk factors for developing dementia, recover from long covid and post concussion symptoms, reduce their brain fog, improve their memory and gain their quality of life back.

I am thrilled to now be offering self pace courses that will guide you in optimizing your lifestyle and assisting you on your brain health journey. These courses allow you to get the same insight you would normally get by booking coaching with me, but at your own pace and for a fraction of the cost of the full protocol.

I can't wait to see what the next year brings!

Thank you to all our current, past and future clients. I look forward to continuing to serve you. ❤️

~Lindsey

Despite it being 3 deg outside (literally), I was delighted to assist with the SOAR - Supporting Older Adults through Resources, Inc. Holiday meal delivery.

I'm so grateful to be a part of SOAR and all they do, and to be able to bring a little cheer to our seniors in the area. It took me so long to deliver all the meals as people just wanted to have a chat ❤️

If you know of a senior in need, please don't hesitate to reach out to SOAR for assistance! Happy holidays everyone!

Lead and Cadmium Could Be in Your Dark Chocolate

Consumer Reports found dangerous heavy metals in chocolate from Hershey's, Theo, Trader Joe's and other popular brands. This article discusses the ones that had the most, and some that are safer.

Lead and cadmium are particularly toxic to the body and brain and are being linked to multiple neurodegenerative diseases from Parkinson's to Alzheimer’s.

"Calculating the exact amount of dark chocolate that’s risky to eat is complicated. That’s because heavy metal levels can vary, people have different risk levels, and chocolate is just one potential source of heavy metal exposure. But experts say that by being mindful of the risks, you can still enjoy dark chocolate while minimizing the potential harms.

Choose dark chocolates with the lowest levels of

Treat chocolate as a treat.

Try dark chocolates with lower cacao percentages.

Alternate with milk chocolate.

Don’t assume organic dark chocolates are safer. In CR’s tests, they were just as likely as other products to have concerning levels of heavy metals.

Don’t give kids much dark chocolate.

Think about your total chocolate consumption. They did not test for heavy metals in cocoa powder, hot cocoa mixes, or other chocolate desserts. But they contain cocoa solids, too, so they could contribute to your heavy metal intake.

Eat a well-rounded diet. Switching up the foods you eat may help you avoid overconsumption of heavy metals from other sources. "

If you are concerned about heavy metal toxicity in your body, give us a call as we can assist you in safely eliminating it and reducing your risk of cognitive decline.

Consumer Reports tested 28 dark chocolate bars and found cadmium and lead in all of them. Here's how to limit your heavy metal exposure.

Nutrition is such a vital component of brain health, and there has been a lot of misinformation put out over the years. We end up blaming the wrong foods for our issues, or creating blanket statements that are incorrect.

It is so important to know the why, and to be able to look into the current research to know what is truly affecting our bodies.
