Mid gab- about black trumpets (Craterellus cornucopioides)!
They’ve grown in the same mossy, moist area on our trails for two years now, and I’m grateful to be harvesting enough to dry for seasoning!
I have a glass jar that I’ve been adding to and my oh my is the smoky full flavor so decadent.

The amazing flavor is why these are a choice edible mushroom!
