Chief Petty Officer Kevin Williams Jr.

A sailor’s heart, steady and strong,
Guiding others where they belong.
With quiet strength and a leader’s way,
He lifted lives day by day.

A friend to many, warm and true,
With laughter shared and wisdom too.
From distant shores to family’s side,
In every role he led with pride.

A son devoted, a father dear,
A voice of courage others could hear.
Though his watch has ended here on this shore,
His spirit sails forevermore.

In every life he helped inspire,
Burns the light of Kevin’s fire.
A legacy of love so wide,
Still guiding us like the ocean tide.

Celebrating the Life of Janiya Warren
November 16, 1998 to March 8, 2026

Today we gather with hearts both heavy and full,
Remembering a life so bright and beautiful.
Though tears may fall as memories start,
Janiya will forever live in our hearts.

Born on a November day so clear,
A name was chosen with laughter near.
Watching Miss Doubtfire on the screen,
Her mama smiled and named her Janiya in between.

Janiya was wise, an old soul at heart,
Quiet and thoughtful, yet set apart.
She loved to read and puzzles to do,
And solving mysteries was her favorite too.

At Chancellor High she ran the track,
Strong and determined, never looking back.
Step by step, race by race,
You could see her strength and steady pace.

She was the oldest, a sister so true,
Her love for her sisters always shined through.
Her circle was small, her love ran deep,
Her family were the ones she chose to keep.

When she called her mom, her voice would say,
“Hey mama girl,” in her loving way.
Those simple words, so warm and clear,
Will live forever in her mama’s ear.

She laughed at everything, big or small,
Sometimes at nothing at all.
Her laughter could brighten any day,
And lift the clouds that came our way.

She had dreams of being a lawyer one day,
Standing for truth in her own strong way.
And at family gatherings, near or far,
You always knew exactly where she was.

Life brought heartbreak this past December day,
When her sister Amari passed away.
That loss was heavy for her to bear,
A missing piece always there.

But now we find comfort from above,
Two sisters reunited in heaven’s love.
Amari and Janiya side by side again,
Free from sorrow, free from pain.

Though her race here ended sooner than we planned,
Her love will forever guide this family’s hand.
And somewhere in heaven, peaceful and bright,
Janiya is laughing in endless light.

For Maria White
December 28, 1972 to March 6, 2026 🕊️

Maria White was winter born,
a December child beneath quiet skies,
the youngest of three,
the only girl,
yet strong enough to carry a thousand stories.

While others chased ordinary days,
Maria chose a life of service.
Across oceans and deserts,
through wires and voices and careful words,
she helped hearts find each other again.

At the Red Cross,
she was a bridge of voices,
mothers hearing sons,
spouses hearing promises,
families holding each other through sound alone.

And when the lines changed,
when the world moved to new wires and systems,
Maria moved with it,
continuing her quiet mission
so love could travel across the miles.

But service was only part of her song.

Her soundtrack played loud and proud,
the Eagles,
Bon Jovi,
Santana 🎶
music drifting through open windows
and across campfires beneath starry nights.

She loved the wild places,
fishing lines cast into quiet water 🎣
horses moving like poetry across fields 🐎
camping trips with family
where laughter stayed up later than the fire ⛺

And always the animals.
So many cats.
So many loyal companions 🐾

No grandchildren came to fill her parents’ arms,
but Maria gave them something just as joyful,
grand dogs and grand cats
with wagging tails and soft paws.

She loved seafood,
but not the fish she caught,
because for Maria,
fishing was never about the catch.
It was about the quiet.

And when she was hungry,
she would grin and say to her brother,
“Feed me Seymour,”
like a line from a movie
that never got old.

From Maine beginnings
to school halls and community college days,
from family homes to distant voices overseas,
Maria lived a life that connected people.

Not loudly.
Not for applause.

But faithfully.

And somewhere now,
beyond the wires and the distance,
beyond the miles she spent helping others cross,
Maria has reached the quiet shore.

The music is playing.
The campfire is warm.
The cats are curled nearby.

And every voice she helped reunite
is part of the legacy she leaves behind 🕊️

For Desiree’ Our Favorite Girl
Celebration of Life

Born March 26, 2008
Called home March 5, 2026

She came into this world
with the glow of sunrise in her hair
and freckles scattered like tiny red stars
across a face that carried both sweetness and strength.

Desiree’ Jonae Scott
our favorite girl
a prayer answered.

Her mother once prayed,
“Lord, let my baby look just like me.”
And heaven listened.

For when Desiree’ arrived,
she carried her mother’s reflection
in her smile,
in her spirit,
in the love that lived so naturally inside her.

The youngest of her siblings,
yet somehow the one with
the oldest soul.

Her two brothers and her sister
were much older than she was
but the love between them was something special.

She was their baby.
Their joy.
Their little sister who held a big place in their hearts.

They loved her so much
that she had rooms at their houses
places where she could always stay
always belong
always feel at home.

Seventeen years young
with wisdom that felt like it had
lived many lifetimes.

She was the one
who lifted people when they had fallen.
The one who spoke life
when someone felt empty.

And when Desiree’ gave a gift
it was never just a gift.

It had meaning.
A message.
A piece of her heart.

Sometimes written inside
sometimes engraved forever
but always chosen with love
so the person receiving it
would never forget they mattered.

Her family was her treasure.

Her nieces and nephew were her joy
children she adored so deeply
that she proudly stood as their godmother
their guide
their protector.

She loved her friendships
cherished her family
and carried people in her heart
in a way that made them feel seen.

She loved her dad so much.

As a little girl she would proudly say
“I am daddy’s girl.”

And she meant it
with a love that was pure
strong
and forever.

She also loved to dance
moving freely with a joy that could light a room.
She would make up her own dance moves.
Creating moments that made everyone around her smile.

At Courtland High School
she walked the halls with dreams ahead of her
just months away from graduation
standing at the doorway of her future.

And to her grandfather
she was the apple of his eye
a light that made his heart proud
with every smile she gave.

Desiree’ touched people
in ways she may have never fully known.

Because God had placed
something special inside her.

A calling.

A quiet way of reaching hearts
lifting spirits
and leaving love wherever she went.

And though March 5, 2026
brought a heartbreak
that words can barely hold

love like Desiree’s
does not leave this earth.

It lives on
in every memory
every laugh she shared
every dance she created
every heart she lifted.

She was light like morning
freckled like summer sunlight
with red hair that glowed like a small flame.

Some lights are so bright
that heaven calls them home sooner.

But even now
her love is still moving through us.

Through family
through friends
through the lives she changed
without even realizing it.

So today we remember her
we honor her
we celebrate a beautiful soul
who lived with meaning
loved with her whole heart
and left this world brighter
than she found it.

Rest peacefully
sweet Desiree’
our favorite girl.

Your light will never fade.

For Tahjaia Corum-Hill
10/08/1999 – 03/04/2026

Tahjaia, a light that shone so bright,
A heart full of love, a soul of pure light.
She danced through life with joy and grace,
A smile that could brighten the darkest place.

In the kitchen, magic flowed from her hands,
Creating meals with love, as only she can.
She braided and styled with patience and care,
Sharing her beauty with all who were there.

Her children were treasures, her pride, her delight,
Her daughter, her twin, a bond shining bright.
Every laugh, every hug, every story they’d share,
Reflected the love she gave beyond compare.

Though her journey ended far too soon,
Her spirit still dances beneath the moon.
In every meal, every song, every smile,
Tahjaia’s love lives on, mile by mile.

Forever cherished, forever near,
Her light remains in hearts so dear. 🕊️💖

For Jasiah TyShawn “Bubba” Smith
07/20/2007 – 02/25/2026

A bright soul came in summer’s light,
A heart so loving, brave, and bright.
A brother strong, a guardian true,
A smile and laughter in all you would do.

They called you Bubba, Noodle too,
Many names, but one love through and through.
Dancing, skating, sitting by the shore,
Your joyful spirit we’ll always adore.

Though still so young, you stood so tall,
The man of the house, who cared for all.
Your love for family, deep and strong,
Will live in our hearts forever long.

Though your journey here was far too brief,
Your spirit stays, bringing us relief.
In every memory, song, and cheer,
Bubba’s love remains forever near.

Rest peacefully, sweet soul above,
Where pain is gone and filled with love.
Forever cherished, forever near,
Forever in our hearts, always here. 🕊️🤍

In Loving Memory of
Robert “Bucky” Jacob Allison Jr.
May 16, 1941 – February 10, 2026

In Richmond County’s gentle dawn,
Where quiet fields and rivers run,
A boy was born with steady hands
And grew to be a steadfast man.

They called him Bucky, strong and sure,
A craftsman’s heart, both proud and pure.
For over thirty faithful years,
He built his life with sweat and care.
Each board he laid, each floor he sealed,
Reflected love his hands revealed.

He knew the worth of honest days,
Of simple truths and humble ways.
He found his joy in honest work,
In tending gardens and the earth,
In horseshoes tossed beneath the sky,
In laughter drifting warm and high.

And oh, how sweet the music played
When Bucky stepped out unafraid
To dance with Eunice, hand in hand,
His truest love, his promised stand.
Together they built a home so strong,
Filled with grace and country song.

A father’s strength, a granddad’s smile,
A steady presence all the while.
Through sons and grandchildren gathered near,
Through every hug and word of cheer,
His legacy took root and grew
In all the love he carried through.

He joins now those who went before,
His parents, siblings, and his son,
Yet leaves behind what matters more,
A life well lived, a race well run.

So when the gardens start to bloom,
Or music stirs a quiet room,
Or horseshoes ring in open air,
Know that his spirit lingers there.

Simple, kind, steady, and true,
A man who gave and always knew
That love was built the selfsame way
He worked from dawn to close of day,
With patience, pride, and gentle care.

And in the hearts, he shaped with love,
He lives forever there.

Seventh-Inning Stretch

Under a sky of Dodger blue,
On this bright Opening Day,
We celebrate a life well played
In his own unforgettable way.

He cheered the highs, believed through lows,
Stood tall come what may.
And sang “Take me out to the ball game”
Like it was his anthem every day.

Now may the lights shine soft above,
The crowd forever strong.
And we’ll hear his voice in every cheer,
Every time we sing that song. 💙

For Brenda Johnson

Brenda had the music cranked just right,
Oldies spinning day and night.
From King George to Fredericksburg floors,
She’d grab the mic—“Dance, what’re you waiting for?!”

Family was her greatest jam,
Grandkids? Her number-one fan club band.
She laughed loud, she loved big,
Knew every move, every jig.

If there was a beat, she felt it deep,
No wallflowers allowed—no time to sit!
So when you hear that perfect song,
That’s Brenda saying, “Get up and dance—this one’s for you!” 🎶✨
