Did you know a facial massage reduces stress? Our faces have hundreds of pressure points that are connected to different parts of the body and organs. The facial massage stimulates the sympathetic nervous system through fluid movements and therefore reduces your anxiety levels, relaxes your tension and improves your mood. In some cases where massage cannot be done, we are also trained in facial acupressure (ahem... not to be confused with acupuncture—those are the needles!) which also helps achieve the same results by targeting specific pressure points on the face and head. This beauty came in for some self-care relaxation, and what she wants, she gets! 💕

Tomorrow is the official first day of summer! Are you ready?! A special shoutout to this client willing to participate in some wax education for you 😄

📝 Waxing is the process of hair removal from the root by using a covering of a sticky substance, such as wax, to adhere to body hair, and then removing this covering and pulling out the hair from the follicle.

📝 Redness or irritation may occur due to the pulling of the hair out of the follicle and tugging at skin. Typically, you'll see it pop up right after the waxing, especially if you're sensitive. However, no need to worry as it generally subsides over the course of the day. Pin-point bleeding is also VERY normal and a great sign that the hair root has been extracted.

📝 The life of the hair cycle is approximately 2-4 weeks, so we recommend you get on a waxing routine (without shaving in between) to get the most benefits. Over time, less hair grows back and the ones that do are much thinner.

Today’s the day! California is officially reopening! 15 months ago Masque’d Beauty Studio finally received our establishment license from the Board of Barbering & Cosmetology and within the same week, we had to shutdown due to COVID restrictions. Despite our adherence to strict disinfection protocols, we, along with our fellow esthies and cosmos have been last on the list for “safe” reopening. We are so fortunate to have been able to keep our tiny studio and stick through this shutdown while also making as many adjustments as possible to ensure we meet state and county guidelines both for the safety of ourselves and our clients. So excited that we can officially say… we are FINALLY open!!! 💕
