We have some news to share.
This week, Madame USA published a feature on Go
Behavioral and the work our team has been building
since 2018. They titled it "Redefining Global
Healthcare and Behavioral Innovation," and honestly,
I read those words a few times before I knew what
to feel.
Pride was part of it. So was a quiet kind of
disagreement.
Because the work we do isn't innovative in the way
the headline suggests. We don't use new technology
that nobody else has. We don't have a secret
methodology that other clinics don't. What we do,
when it works, works because of something much
simpler than that.
We listen first. We recommend second. We build the
plan with the family, not for them.
That's it. That's the whole philosophy.
When I started Go Behavioral in Orlando in 2018,
I was a clinician with a question that wouldn't
leave me alone. Why does so much of behavioral
health feel designed for the system, and so
little of it feel designed for the family?
The answer I kept arriving at was uncomfortable.
Most of behavioral health is built around what
is measurable, billable, and standardized. Not
around what is human, slow, and individual.
Building Go Behavioral has been an attempt to
answer that question differently.
To every family we have worked with since 2018,
thank you. You have taught me more than any of
my own training did. You have shown me what real
parenting looks like in the hardest moments. You
have trusted us with your children, and there is
no greater honor than that.
To my team, the BCBAs, RBTs, clinical directors,
and operations staff who show up every day across
our locations in California and Florida, you are
the reason any of this works. The article has my
name on it, but the work has yours.
And to any parent reading this who is somewhere
in this journey, whether you're newly diagnosed,
deep in the middle, or transitioning into
adulthood, please know we see you. The work isn't
about us. It's about your child. It always has
been.
