Today on Children’s Grief Awareness Day we’re holding space for the children and teens in our community who are grieving someone they love.
Grief can be confusing and overwhelming at any age. Young people need gentle places to be heard, supported, and understood.
At Hinds LifeCare, we offer grief support designed just for them:
💙 Circle of Friends — a 13-week support group for children ages 3 to 12. Through child-directed play and connection, children express feelings, build coping skills, and honor their loved one in a safe setting guided by trained volunteers and supervised by licensed clinicians. There is no fee for this group but prior registration is required.
💙 Teen Grief Group — weekly drop-in support for teens ages 13 to 17. Held every Tuesday from 6:30–7:30 p.m., this group gives teens space to talk openly, be understood, and connect with others who “get it.” There is no fee or prior registration required for this group.
You can support grieving kids and teens today by wearing blue, sharing resources, and showing up with patience, kindness, and listening hearts. Even small acts of compassion make a difference.
And if you feel called to do more, Circle of Friends welcomes volunteers (ages 14-24) who want to walk alongside children in their grief journey.
If you know a child or teen who is struggling after a loss, we are here to help.
