Over time, excessive alcohol consumption can lead to the development of chronic diseases and other serious issues that affect your quality of life, physical and mental health. AMR San Bernardino County would like to remind everyone to become educated on the dangers of excessive alcohol consumption and the resources available to help those in need. If you or someone you know is struggling with alcohol addiction, know that help is available. Let's spread awareness, support each other and prioritize our well-being during this National Alcohol Awareness Month.

Medication Safety Week is a great opportunity to remind our community about using medicines safely. Medications help manage health and improve quality of life, but they must be taken responsibly. Here are a few tips for medication safety:

• Keep a current meds list (prescriptions, OTCs, supplements) and share it with your provider.
• Read the label and follow dosing instructions exactly.
• Know the side effects and contact your provider if something feels off.
• Store meds safely – locked up, away from kids/pets and in a cool, dry place.
• Don’t share medications—what works for one person may not be safe for another.

At AMR San Bernardino County, finding a way together means working as a team to deliver the best possible care, even in high‑pressure situations. EMT AJ Richmond and Paramedic Oscar Aispuro exemplified this during a critical patient encounter at the Baker to Vegas Challenge Cup Relay.

Clinical Education Specialist Susie Moss, who was present and witnessed the care provided, recognized AJ and Oscar for their teamwork, sound clinical judgment, and exceptional care by presenting them with the Clinical Excellence Challenge Coin. Their professionalism, communication, and collaborative approach ensured the patient received the highest level of care.

Please join us in congratulating AJ and Oscar for their teamwork and clinical excellence, and thank you to Susie Moss for supporting and recognizing excellence in the field.

We were honored to be invited to Saint Juliana Falconieri School to participate in their First Responders Recognition and Mass, an opportunity for our EMTs and Rampart, our GMR Therapy Dog, to connect with students and the school community in a meaningful way.

Following the visit, we were incredibly touched to receive these heartfelt, handmade thank‑you cards from the students. Seeing the impact that Rampart and our EMTs had on young hearts truly reminds us why we do what we do.

At AMR San Bernardino County, we keep care at the center of everything we do. Moments like these are a powerful reminder that keeping care at the center extends beyond emergency response and into the communities we serve. The visit focused on comfort, compassion, and connection, and we are grateful for the warm welcome extended to our team.

Thank you for allowing us to share such a special moment with your students.
