Summer is coming, so you better get to POUT’N!
What’s a lip filler appointment like?
When you come in, we will assess your lip and discuss your pout goals. I always try to work on enhancing what you have rather than trying to create an unrealistic lip! We will apply the numbing cream and lit it soak in, like seasoning! Then the injections begin. The filler has lidocaine infused in it that allows it to numb as we go! I like to start with creating more defined philtrum columns (the lines that go from your nose to your lip!). This helps to give crisp definition and subtly everts the upper lip. I then start at the top of your cupids bow and lay smooth lines of filler from the inside of your lip up to the peak of the cupids bow. This pulls the inside of that upper lip out and everts it, giving you more pout! The peaks of the Cupid’s bow will add more height and drama 💃🏽 I like to continue with the Russian lip technique to lay lines of filler in a flared out pattern to give a key hole pout! I then define the vermillion border (the thin tubes of keratin that outline your lip!) to give the lips crisp, defined borders. Then in the lower lip, I like to place small boluses in both of the bottom lip tubercles and then repeat the Russian lip technique on the bottom lip. We then define your vermillion border on your bottom lip, and voila! You’ve made it!
I stop and allow you to evaluate my work at each step! I never want to take full control and just give you the lips I think you need. This is a collaboration between patient and provider! We are team that are working together to give you customized results that work for you!
Then we will send you home with a post-treatment repair kit from that includes a lip serum and lip balm to decrease bruising and swelling so you can serve your new pout ASAP!
