🚨 Important Update: Expanded Background Screening for Florida Healthcare Professionals! 🚨

Florida is strengthening its commitment to patient safety! A new bill, signed by Gov. Ron DeSantis, will expand criminal background screening requirements for healthcare professionals seeking licensure.

Currently, only certain professionals—such as physicians, nurses, and physician assistants—undergo mandatory background checks. However, if the bill becomes law, many more healthcare professionals will be required to complete screenings before receiving their license.

In addition to the current list, the following professionals will now be required to complete background screening:

✅ Pharmacists
✅ Dentists & Dental Hygienists
✅ Midwives
✅ Occupational Therapists
