Hurricane Idalia made landfall and is moving north. Outer bands from Idalia are moving through Alachua County and will continue to do so through the morning and early afternoon. Residents are urged to stay inside even during calm periods as new bands may move into the area, bringing new tropical storm-force winds.

The total cumulative rainfall is expected to be in the 4 to 6-inch range.

Residents should stay safe and not leave their homes so that public safety and public works personnel can react to damage. Downed powerlines and trees are creating dangerous hazards. Residents staying in shelters or have otherwise evacuated their homes are urged to remain in place until the storm has completely passed.

Stay away from power lines. Watch out for fallen power lines that may be hanging overhead.

Stay clear of fallen power lines. Call the electric company to report them. Learn more about staying safe after the storm.

If you feel you have a life-threatening or dangerous situation, call 911. For non-emergencies, call 352-955-1818.

Find your provider to report power outages and view outage maps online.

It is important to be safe after the storm.

https://alachuacounty.us/Depts/Communications/Documents/ADACompliant/Emergency-Order-Hurricane-Ian-Declare-State-of-Emergency.pdf.

We will reopen today as planned. We are so very grateful the storm did not effect us here in Gainesville.

Our hearts are incredibly heavy for the destruction Dorian caused in the Bahamas.

09/02/2019

We are watching Hurricane Dorian closely. Our office will remain closed through Wednesday 09/04/19 to allow our families and patients to prepare.

As of now, we plan to be open this Thursday 09/05/19 and Friday 09/06/19, weather permitting.

Since this is a very dangerous storm, and the path is unclear, we will notify you if we must remain closed either of those days.

If that is the case, we will call to notify patients who have scheduled appointments this Thursday and Friday.

Please stay safe and call 9-1-1 if you have a life-threatening emergency. The non-emergency phone number for Alachua County to reach police and fire dispatch is 352-955-1818.
