We proudly celebrated Dementia and Alzheimer’s Education Week here at The Phoenix at Lake Lanier with a full week dedicated to learning, growth, and awareness. We began the week on Monday with an educational presentation on Dementia led by the wonderful Kayla Hubbard with Appalachian Hospice. This session was open to all staff and family members and provided valuable insight into understanding Dementia and how we can better support those we serve. On Thursday, our team members participated in the Virtual Dementia Tour, followed by an additional tour on Friday that was open to our families and community members. The impact of this experience is truly beyond compare. The Virtual Dementia Tour offers a powerful perspective into the daily experience individuals living with Dementia may face, fostering greater empathy, patience, and understanding. Our community had a total of 27 participants for this event. Our hope is that every person who participated walked away with deeper knowledge, a renewed perspective, and an even stronger commitment to compassionate care. We are grateful to everyone who joined us in making this week so meaningful.

Our first Family Night of 2026 was a huge success! Thank you to all of our residents and family members who joined us for such a fun and love-filled evening. Seeing everyone come together to celebrate our community is so incredibly special, and we hope you felt just as much joy as we did! A big thank you to our amazing directors and staff for all of your help in making this event possible, and to our wonderful hospice partners for your generous donations and support. We are so grateful for our community! From love song bingo to exciting raffle prizes, it was a night to remember. We’re already looking forward to the next one!

💟 Family Night is Almost Here 💟 We’re so excited to invite you to our first Family Night of 2026 on Tuesday, February 10th from 6:00–7:30 PM! Join us for a fun and informative evening as we come together to celebrate our amazing community. We’ll be sharing updates from our Community Directors, enjoying games and raffle prizes, and offering light refreshments along the way. This event is free for all family members and is meant to be a relaxed, social gathering focused on staying connected and informed. We truly hope to see you there and can’t wait to spend the evening with our families! ❤️

❄️☃️ It was a chilly weekend at Lake Lanier, but we made the most of it! Our community was buzzing with fun, warmth and creativity! From exercise classes to brighten our spirits, to inspiring snowball fights that remind us of the joyous moments of childhood and faith, there was something for everyone.

Our Drama Club was hard at work rehearsing for their upcoming performance and an impromtu spirited and competitive "Snowball Bingo Social" was a blast! 🎭✨ And if that wasn’t enough fun, we also had a creative paper art activitiy to unleash everyone’s inner artist. Fresh baked cookies all around were a big hit!
This weekend was filled with laughter, teamwork, and warmth—even in the cold. We’re grateful for these moments that bring our community closer together! 🌨️❤️

Our Director team truly went above and beyond to make Activity Professionals Week extra special for our Activities team! From delicious cake and beautiful flowers to lots of thoughtful goodies, every gesture meant so much to us! 🎉

🌨️✨ The ice storm may have blanketed us in winter wonder, but that didn’t stop our fantastic staff from staying through the weekend to ensure our residents felt the warmth of community and joy! 🥰

This weekend, our residents turned the frosty inside landscape into a winter playground with an epic Inspirational snowball fight that filled the air with laughter and cheer! ❄️🎉 And what better way to warm up after all that fun than with delicious hot chocolate ☕💕 Adding in creative art , music and games everyone was snug as a bug!

The spirit of togetherness shined bright, reminding us that no storm can dampen our creativity and connection! 💖 Here’s to turning chilly days into cherished memories!

This morning our Pearl artists explored the bold world of Pablo Picasso-learning about his life, his unique style, and then trying their own hands at Picasso-inspired creations in the afternoon! 🎨🖌️ The room was full of laughter, bright colors, and endless creativity! 😂
