We are incredibly grateful to have completed a very intensive Family Constellations Training with Marielena Obienic of Systemic Engineering of the Soul.
This is a Quantum system that is extremely effective for:
Interpersonal relationships
Grief and loss
Anxiety, depression, and trauma
Patterns of addiction or self-sabotage
Physical health issues (linked to unresolved emotional dynamics)
Family Constellations Therapy, developed by Bert Hellinger, is a therapeutic method aimed at resolving deep-seated family dynamics and generational trauma. This approach holds that many personal issues stem from unconscious, inherited family patterns. Hellinger believed that family systems—across multiple generations—carry unresolved trauma, guilt, and emotional burdens that can influence an individual's current life. By bringing these hidden dynamics to light, the method seeks to create understanding, healing, and a release from patterns that may be impacting one’s well-being.
Key Principles
The Family System and Ancestral Influence: Hellinger posited that everyone belongs to a "family soul" or "field" of intergenerational influences. The emotions, traumas, and unresolved issues of previous generations can be unconsciously carried forward, manifesting as issues in descendants.
Orders of Love: Hellinger defined natural orders within families—such as belonging, hierarchy, and balance. When these orders are disrupted (for example, through exclusion of a family member), it can lead to “entanglements,” where individuals unconsciously attempt to resolve or “carry” issues for other family members.
Entanglements: According to Hellinger, individuals may unconsciously take on emotional or behavioral patterns to help or compensate for another family member. For example, a person may repeat patterns of loss or failure to mirror an ancestor’s unresolved trauma, thus remaining "entangled" in that person’s fate.
The Constellation Process
The process of a family constellation involves setting up a visual representation of the family system. This is often done in a group setting, where other participants stand in as representatives for family members, though it can also be done one-on-one with physical objects or simply as a visualization.
Setting Up the Constellation: The individual (known as the “seeker” or “client”) identifies a core issue they wish to resolve. The therapist then guides them to choose representatives for various family members or significant relationships.
Revealing Hidden Dynamics: As representatives interact, they may express feelings, emotions, or physical sensations that reflect the dynamics between family members. This "systemic" approach brings forward the underlying relational patterns and emotional bonds that often remain hidden.
Resolution and Healing: By acknowledging the presence of these hidden dynamics and offering symbolic actions or statements, family members (represented by the stand-ins or objects) can achieve a sense of peace, balance, or reconciliation. The client often experiences this as a sense of release or a new perspective on their family history.
