Getting into Astrology, there are a lot of layers. Some more evident than others, some noticeable as it happens or after. Regardless, it's a language, a language between the celestial and terrestrial and ourselves. Once we grasp the basics and understand ourselves in it, then we can use it outwardly.

I know my chart inside and out at this point and looking for others who want to know more about theirs. But for now I'll use an example of something I've noticed based on my studies with Evolutionary Herbalism and observing personally.

Leo season as we currently are in, represents many things. Main one people associate it with is ego. But it's more than that. With Ares, the 1st Fire, we have the Spark of Awareness, that we exist. Then we get through Ta**us of having a body and senses. Gemini with communication and language. Cancer with our emotions.
So with Leo, what do we do with them? Who does that make us? How do we find out who we are further with that? That's where Leo comes in. Around the 11-13 yr old stage and puberty transition, we see it in learning our cliques, who we gravitate towards, how we feel about ourselves and presenting ourselves.

Something I discovered looking at a chart today was how this can also be a time for Mars return. Mars being passion, action, anger; we see these in puberty as well. This is when have the middle school crushes and such without understanding what that means. Just that it's what the body and mind are developing to understand. So we lash out, can't understand our feelings and can be very difficult to communicate that effectively. Especially when the adults have an expectation of the kid being mature enough to understand certain things, but really it's still surface level, until we can go through the emotional and watery depths of Scorpio and back up to the 3rd Fire sign of Sagittarius.

A good way to understand this on a story level is Alice in Wonderland.

Random thought pops in my head regarding mental health and stigma with therapy.
We do Physical Therapy on our bodies with no second thought of stigma, at least that I'm aware of its more "normal".
However when it comes to Mental Therapy, now it's getting better but there has been and still is a...shame (for lack of better word). It's still a part of us so it's important that the mentality is cared for as well.

I had more but the stage fright and anxiety took over and now my brain is empty. So enjoy the small portion

HAPPY LEO SEASON and New Moon
From roughly July 22 to Aug 21, we see the Fixed Fire in the form of the hottest season of the Cycle.
As a barren season, this is a time for maintaining what is currently growing, harvesting any ready to pick berries or peppers, etc, and weeding. We don't want to plant anything, transplant, or prune back during this time. The exception being cutting back dead parts.

Leo is ruled by The Sun and The Tarot card here is Strength VIII

Representing our ego identity, being the 2nd Fire sign, we are now asking a deeper sens of Who Are We? We all know Leo's to have strong self esteem and confidence.
This can also be leader material.
In the unhealthy excess, we see this as a ME egomania. Case in point is currently the 🍊💩 in office. He also has Gemini stuff so very egoic and two faced.
In Deficiency, this can be low self esteem or confidence and rather than feel they can be themselves outwardly, they tend to hold back and recluse.
In the body, Leo rules the Heart and Cardiovascular as well as the Spine and we would want to see what planetary influences are happening in and to Leo.

With this New Moon, we want to go inward and reflect on this past cycle. What served us? For Cancer, what served the home? For Leo, what serves our soul and our essence? What will feed us and not drain our health? We have different types of heart or heart energies. The emotional heart is just as important to heal as the physical heart.
What will help us stand strong and give use the spine to do what is right for ourselves and our community and our World?
